Will I see any difference in performance moving from Q6600@3.5ghz to Core i3 @4.5ghz ..thank ..

For the most part yes but it will depend on what type of applications you are using.

It will be faster on single and dual treaded apps and probably the same on triple and quad as hyperthreading isnt as good as having an independent physical core

Just to let you know- if ur geting the i3 ( a good choice over the i5 6xx series but an i5 750 may be better) do not get a h55 board if u want to oc well. get a decent p55.
