Hello,
My server, that records my security camera, was recently shut down by a power outage and therefore could not complete writing the most recent video file. It's over 3GB in size and won't play in any media player. I tried fixing the file with programs such as DivFix++ and Digital Video Repair but they all tell me it's a non-compatible format. Finalized video files from the recorder over fine in these programs though, so it does record in proper avi.
Any idea on how I can fix the file as it turns out the footage is VERY valuable...?

try to open it with a video editor program as windows live movie maker or pinnacle studio
Download VLC Media player, when you open a broken AVI file, it will ask you to fix it.
This is a great media player and it plays pretty much any media format out there
