She is very lucky!:hail

I'm going to make up some charts and look very stern as if they make since and while your going to skip past this statement I’ll find some horrific numbers to scare you.

50% Never Seen Again (Dead or Alive)
20% Dead & Raped (Human Male)
10% Family + Returned
10% Sex Slaves
10% Forced To Make MESH!:shocking

They would have done 2 things..

1. Used her as a money making *****.
2. Can't have kids and found the best looking and smart kid.

That's why I'm planning to have my kids learn karate, judo, TKD, Akido or whatever they might like.

Or maybe I'll tell them, you shouldn't talk to strangers, you should be coming home to overclock your new computer.

Well we are capturing these type of criminals by just random people, you and me, noticing these things. Same happened with the snipers. We just need to watch more shows like Americas Most Wanted. You think it doesnt help much, but like I said, from us watching things like that and the news helps us catch these criminals.

Please excuse my ignorance, but who is Elizabeth Smart, and why is her disappearance and reappearance getting so much media coverage?

Please don't get me wrong - I'm glad that she was found and that she is back with her family!

It's just that so many kids are going missing on a daily basis, that I was wondering why Elizabeth Smart's story gets so much coverage?

When young child or teenager is abducted and gets found, what's else is there to do? Besides moving on with our lives, we can look back and breathe a sigh of relief. :thumb

Here in the Isles, we've got cases like these too. Don't think for a second we celebrate here too. Luau anyone? :banana

Well I was thinking the same thing. Her parents are pretty wealthy, so of course that is going to help a bit. Im also gonna agree on because she is a teenager and such. Plus another thing is that it is SOOOO RARE that she wasnt killed. Look at the stats Tivon had.

Doesn’t it seem odd that they were just walking down the street when they were caught? I find it hard to believe that in 9 months or how ever long she was gone, she had no opportunity to escape. What was stopping her from just running away from them on the street??

I think she ran away.

I think she ran away. Poor child, you never know what kind of mental torment her abducters might have put her through.

There is no telling... they might have told lies and had her locked away for months. After a few months being locked up even you would follow along at that age.

Yeah excuse me for being the synic, but that was the exact same thing that I said last night. My girlfriend got mad at me, but seriously. Either she wanted to go away or she's just plain stupid. Who would walk around for 9 months in a wig out ipublic and not mention to anyone they were being held against their will.

I got really really FU**ING irritated that it took up 20 minutes of the news, and then they already had a commercial for a dateline special. She's either a freak and liked being with her "kidnapper", or was running away from her family from her family for one or another reason. The whole thing seems fishy.

I'm having a hard time being happy for the father when the truth is possibly that she was running away from his abusive ass, or his daughter wanted to run away from him in which case his problems have only began.

The bottom line is I don't think anyone is more estatic about this "miracle" than the media.

Hopefully she will pull through.

I am sure there will be a good time period where this poor girl will have to be deprogrammed. It is going to take lots of therapy and counseling to make sure that she can eventually move on and eventually live a happy life.

Exactly, something is not quite right about this story. I think some very interesting things will pop up about this girl’s family in the coming weeks.

Did anyone notice how wet the two abductors are in their mug shots?

Boy they must have had to hose them down good before they took those photos!

Seen a few pictures of Elizabeth back home with her family. She's all smiles, but her eyes look very distant and thoughtful. Who knows what cruel, hurtful things were mentally done to this child? She might have been told her whole family was dead...any kind of wild story.

I guess what looks kind of weird is that fact that she doesn't look scruffy, unkempt or psychologically disturbed with that big content smile on her face...obviously well fed, too.

We were all expecting a little beast...dirty, matted hair and physical signs of trauma. Weird, eh?
