My question may have been answered before, in either case I was wondering how you came across using the name orange peel in forums and ut2k3 etc... is there a story behind it or its just a name you thought up and it stuck?

I've been using the nick "orangepeel" for quite some time now. I've used it since I've had ICQ. I think it's been at least four years :).

It comes from my favourite fragrance from The Body Shop...satsuma. Satsuma body perfume oil smells just like a freshly peeled orange, and I l:heartbeatv it :D!

That, and just about any fragrance with a citrus undertone in it gets a thumbs up from me ;). But nothing beats satuma :thumb!

me being the undernurished geek that I am I can't even remember what a freshly peeled orange smells like:thumb

I did have a :banana a while back though, ahhh the good ol' days

anyways: did you ever have to explain that to some ppl on your icq that asked you something like "whats with your name"?

I actually used this user name because I wanted to red something you wrote, one of your articles or something however I had to sign up, johnny5 is a cool piece of hardware (my avitar is a pic of johnny5 the robot) for those of you who never saw the 'short circuit' movies

#1 give yourself a smack for being so foolish
#2 go and rent it

uppon relfection the movie kinda sucks and is childish but that robot is just so damn cool, he has a laser cannon on his shoulder he uses to blast the sh!t outa everything

My online name is Dr.Danke because I am from the original RTCW croud and I was a specialty medic (best one around IMO)... If you have ever played RTCW, you know how the term danke is used (the word THANKS for the German Axis) which is used constantly in return for Ammo/health. So put them 2 together, Dr.Danke means Dr.Thank You. I guess it stuck. I am now known officially as [Ars]Dr.Danke, a proud member of Arstechnica.com.

I've run into a few fragrances that I like from those testers pages, all of them the fruity smelling ones :). But most of the time I find that they smell terrible :lmao!

BCBG has a few perfumes out there that are great. One is called "Star", the other is "Sexy". If I would have to pick a second best perfume it would be BCBG's "Sexy". It has some vanilla in it and smells just right..not sickly sweet :).

Coconut is another yummy fragrance. Some of my hair stuff smells like berries and coconut :p.

Well, as long as you don't rip the page out of the magazine and hand that to them and say "Here's your present"...

That might not go over too well...

But I would say yes, if you have the girl sample a few scents before you buy. The reason I say that is because some perfumes may contain something she might be allergic to, or sensitive to, and then she wouldn't be able to wear it. At least if you have her smell a few, you can find out what she likes and then it would be a great gift...

Trust me on this one - I've got plenty of allergies and I know what it's like - there are some things I can't even be in the same room with because the smell alone gets to me so badly...

Sure is! Just make sure she isn't allergic to it first :). For example...I can't wear white musk perfumes...it affects me really bad :(.

Here's an idea...make a sweep by The Body Shop when you are in the mall together. They used to have testers out to try...and at one point you could mix your own perfume oils and create nice yummy scented stuff :p.

The price is pretty good too for a bottle of body perfume oil that lasts a loooong time...and you could mix a scent you both like :devil!!

Yeah it seems like a good idea, but is it socially acceptable. The question is when is it TOO young to wear perfume?

Hmmm. Not sure, because my mum used to put little wax perfumes from Avon in my stocking every year for Christmas ever since I was a little girl :).

It's the overpowering stuff like Chanel and Givenchy that can seem too heady...they are not "young" scents at all.

Hmmm, I don't what her tastes are :).

Perfume is a very personal thing and actually can take on a unique fragrance which really differs from person to person. What I mean is if you are wearing a vanilla based perfume, each person's vanilla will smell a bit different.

Sounds weird, but it's true :). Kinda what works best with your body chemistry, I guess. It becomes part of you!

Does your g/f wear any perfume now? You could gauge it by that.

Hmmm, take her out to test a few...and you can test them out together...she might like that :). Do you have a Body Shop near you? Here is some of the selection they have :).

Still searching out those great fragrances :)

Here's another blurb I found for summertime scents for the ladies!

"Body sprays kept in the refrigerator then spritzed all over the body are an icy, refreshing treat. Try Calgon Hawaiian Ginger Body Mist ($6.95 for 8 oz.), a heavenly mix of pineapple, melons, jasmine, rose, ginger musk and sweet vanilla. Calgon Body Mist is also available in Cool Sunshower, Fresh Sorbet, Hawaiian Ginger, Pear Essence, Morning Glory, Peach, In the Rain, Moon Petal Musk and Turquoise Seas."

The Calgon Hawaiian Ginger is really nice :).

So is Fresh Sorbet.

Bah, if you are afraid that you are too young to buy perfume then simply get her a card and a single flower. And when you present her with your gifts, try to steal a kiss on the cheek... or if you're cheeky on the lips.

Besides, buying perfume is really personal thing. Because if presented wrong, you can give the impression that you don't like the way she smells. Eww, stinky.

Mmmm hmmmm! Flowers are an excellent present, eferz :Nice.

I got flowers with a yummy lip gloss attached once ..it was very, very nice :)! Now how cheeky was that, a subliminal kiss message :D!

Cute stuffed things like teddeh bears are sweet presents too. It's something to cuddle :).

The plus about perfume is that it will last a long time and she will think of you when she wears it...but it is a very personal gift and you would have to get something she really, really likes.

That one's a cutie... My daughter would love that... She loves giraffes - anything giraffe. We've got giraffe pictures in her room, she's got stuffed giraffes already, she's got the riding giraffe I got her, and she's got a 6 ft tall giraffe that stands by her bed and watches over her. She calls it "Big Giraffe"... :)

Cool!

Is it one of those huge stuffed ones like at FAO Schwartz :)?

We've a store like that here that sells really neat stuffed stuff. Big tigers, lions and horses :).

The giraffe in the pic I posted above is called "Sprinkles" and it's a Gund.

Here's a pic of a mohair giraffe from Steiff. They are a German company that makes, IMHO, some of the best toys in the world. They are the birthplace of the teddy bear in 1902 !

I believe so - it took quite a bit to get it shipped from wherever it came from to here. I'd ask WazLady but she's asleep.

Actually, I just looked - it is the one from FAO Schwartz. It's 6' 5" tall and it's so lifelike it's amazing. Plus it's so soft and the detail is excellent. She put some of those little butterfly clip things in its mane...

A picture of it should be attached... We hunted high and low to find that big giraffe - that's all she could talk about - all she wanted for Christmas - so Grandpa and Grandma got it.

We're always looking for giraffe stuff for her...

Yeah - Grandpa had to bring it over to our house in his truck. I can't believe how much detail was done on it - it looks more real than a lot of things do... But it is quite big - I'm 6'4" and he and I see eye to eye... :)

She wanted to at first but we got her to understand that she couldn't or else it would break... So now he stands right next to her bed and watches over everything that happens in her room. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those toys that she has for the rest of her life.

It would be really neat to visit the FAO Schwartz store at some point...may never find the way out again amongst all the toys :D.

Your right Orangepeel! She will have him forever!

I do have pictures of her with Mr. Giraffe at Christmas. I will have Wazman post them.

He came from FAO Schwartz in Las Vegas. My mother called FAO Schwartz in November looking for him. They had 2. So they shipped this one from the LV store. He came via Roadway since the box was so big.

If she wants to bring him to Show and Tell I would have to find a truck to cart him in. And this is one stuffed animal she will have for the rest of her life. He will go to her 1st apartment and her home.

And will probably be passed down to her kids...

I will have the pic's posted tomorrow! I have them at work so Wazman will have to scan them:)

But we do sound kinda weird... If you think about it...

HeHe its ok. But I'm talking about accents. I know this sounds snobby and like egotistical, but I don't mean to be. Accent refers to same language different country. Dialect is same language same country. It is stupid. And most people in the U.S. don't really consider Texas a US state its just there. We stole it from the Mexicans and we keep it to rub it in their face. Sounds stupid but it is the only reason for texas.
