I just got a T300 off ebay for a pretty good price in the United States. I want to use the phone in Toronto, Canada. So in order to do this, I need to unlock the phone.
Anyone know any place to unlock the phone for cheap. Free would be nice, also.
I think unlocking is legal since I've seen such services on ebay.
Thanks.

Ya, it cost $~50CDN to do it. That will probably be my last choice, hoping someone on the forum have some insight with these stuff.

Anyway. What's the point of unlocking the phone? What does it accomplish?

My first cell phone came with that, but battery started dying, so I am now using my 3390, and that is getting pretty beaten up. So I just feel like a new phone.
The point of unlocking the phone is that you can stick in any SIM card and use it. As in, the current phone I'm buying is locked to T-Mobile (U.S.) SIM card, in order for me to use it on my FIDO service, I have to unlock the phone so it recognize my Fido SIM card. And if later on, I'm tired of FIDO, I can buy a Roger's AT&T SIM card and use the phone for that.
