How far along are you?

Right now I'm still in the planning stages. I may have to scale it back or delay it as money is kind of short right now, but even if I don't build it now I'll keep the idea for a later date.

It's still cheaper than SCSI. A 36GB 10K SCSI hard drive costs anywhere between $170 and $200. The 15K drives are even more expensive, plus the noise of multiple 15K drives is too much for me to bear.

I was just wondering how you were going to attach the Water Block to the Northbridge. Just to let you know (if you didn't know) that the IC7-G doesn't have mounting holes. This is the same problem that I have ran into. Good luck figuring it out! :thumb:)

Monitor: SONY CRT MONITOR CPD-E540B 549$ - i would highly recomend not getting this monitor... maximum pc gave it a 4 out of 10! it was price ajusted from 6, so basically it got a 6 out of 10... But if you want a :KICKASS monitor maxpc gave this NEC F2111 (model number close, but not exact) a 9! kickass monitor indeed. black to as i see you wanted a e540b so it should suit your needs.,,,,

What are you going to be using this machine for? hopefully you'll be animating movies or something.

"I want the fastest computer money can buy."

And then they use it to store their bootlegged mp3 collection.

Man, I remember the days when the solitaire cards would actually bounce slowly enough to watch off the screen...

Just use multiple hard drives.

Yeah...but it better be a big one..remember the frame is machined from a solid block of aluminum....I think maybe a strong electromagnet would do the trick (Along with de-magnitizing all my credit cards :Crying)

Naw... Just stick it in the oven (after removing and destroying the PCB .) and turn it up to 750 degrees. That is the max our oven can get to. Burn baby.... Burn:devil

Then somehow.... w/o melting your hands... become a viking sword maker and :smash the thing to a weird shape. If it is a new drive, the glass platters (YES, that is right... the platters are glass) should shatter or warp very easily and should never again contain any data.

Or you could pull the harddrive modification that some people (nameless) pulled in the forums.
