Hey everyone! Can you help WazLady pick out the color for her dream car?

We have four choices to choose from:

Mellow Yellow
Aquarius Blue
Galatic Blue
Black

Let her know what you think!

(I know there's another thread - Rodney, can you delete that? We're trying to make it a poll...)

And you guys will be happy to know they don't come in pink:mad:

My mom thinks they should be "fun" colors like the yellow...not black...but I am the one shelling out good $$$$ for it.

I would like to see your responses:luxhello :sun_smile :thumb :wavey :wavey

The blue looks nice, but the black looks better.

Alas its not a Beetle to me unless the motor is in the back.....:spin

I'd certainly like to give one of the 1.8t Beetles a try...hehe, that's fun...but on the other hand, I'd much rather prefer an SRT-4, for most likely cheaper but Hey! to each their own!!

To be honest, the Beetle Convertible colour doesn't appeal to be too much. They just seem to be so dull, not bright enough as the regular beetle.

But if I HAVE TO HAVE TO choose, then I will choose either blue, I was thinking the Aquarius Blue over the Gallatic Blue since it looks more special. And since it is for WazLady, it's GOTTA be a SPECIAL CAR + SPECIAL COLOUR.

Anyway, I'm more interested in which Engine (model) you are getting? The 2.0L 115hp or the 1.8T 150hp engine.:devil

either with the light blue or the black. yet....black u can see dirt all over the place after use and u can make out a dent easier in black. ive seen the light blue on the streets.......very nice...

I would go for the Galactic Blue. I love dark blues... If you're going for a Beetle, it has to be the 1.8t model for sure, unless you are not in any hurry to get anywhere.

black does tend to show a lot of grime and dirt....the blue is pretty nice....not the yellow though, that seems to be a cliche colour when it comes to the Beetles...

That said have you guys thought of the new mini? Pretty sweet car if you asketh me!

I've got one year left on my Saturn lease and the Cooper S is on my list. 160hp in a car the size of a VW golf (same width 1' shorter actually) would be a blast! I use to drive a Suzuki Swift GTi with 100hp and that car was fun to drive.... BUT at $34,000can, I may look at something else, maybe the Benz 2-door for $36k.

Well...yes...but it is a BMW in every way including quality of build, safety features and the room inside....that car is really a Bimmer through and through.....

Nice looking car IMHO.

The only thing that was concerning to me was the clearance between the grill and the engine (none, zero, ziltch). A minor fender-bender would distroy the engine!

And yes a true BMW!

I am looking at 2.0L I-4 SOHC SMPI(what ever that last part means?) engine. 115hp 5 speed manual transmission with overdrive.

MSRP $22,575 USD

Keyless entry with heated seats...so I can have the top down in cold weather...people will probably look at me weird...but aye..always wanted a convertible:)

Beetles are a very cute car :). I like the galactic blue shade, meself. But yellow comes in a very close second :).

But the Mini...now that's a little sweet car to have :thumb! The blue one is really nice...but I like the silver. I've seen it on the road and it's my fave so far.

Ah, but for the beetle? The darker blue, or the yellow. Black just doesn't do it for a little beetle for some reason. How about RED?!!!!

the 2.0L engine isn't as fun as the 1.8T.

Give both a try, and I think you'll LOVE the 1.8T. It's very responsive and very fun to drive.

So what is the main difference between the 2 engines????

Sorry...but I don't know that much about car engines. I do know the difference between a 4 cylinder and a V6 though....

The 2.0L only has like 115hp stock, which certainly isn't much espcially if you like to cut ppl out on the highway or whatever. The car will struggle if you jam 4-5 ppl in the car, it will barely move.

The 1.8T (1.8 Turbo) has 160hp, which is plenty of horses to be pass a lot of cars on the road.

You could test drive both of them, and I think you'll notice the big difference between the too.

I saw an orange one today down at the garage shop, it looks kinda cool. But I think Aquarius blue will give you a more special look to the car.

I SAW IT TODAY!!! I AM IN LOVE!!!!

Wazman and I were out checking out cars for him and I saw the Beetle Convertible in person!!!!

It was the Mellow Yellow color. The only one they had. But still I saw it and left lip marks on the hood.

I haven't seen any other color in person..but the yellow isn't bad at all....

I wanted to wrap my arms around it and take it home..

Actually, now that I see it in person, the Mellow Yellow isn't that bad... It's not a bright yellow like a curb yellow or lemon yellow... It's more a paler, restrained yellow.

Still not my first choice, but it looks a lot better than I thought it would...

It is a nice soft cozy yellow....like the sun on a warm summer day.

A color I can see myself growing old with and not getting tired of it.

But I will also like to see the other colors too. Seems like most people here like the darker blue.

So I will let you guys and gals know what happens:beer
