Personally I am just really pleased that I won a prize in the last contest. Sure shocked me, since I never win anything, but in the end, I am honoured to be a member of these awesome forums, and to have the oppertunity to chat it up with you folks.

As for the 150post rule. It is decent. For people like me, who are not chatterboxes, 150 posts takes a while. I've been a member for over 1/2 year now, and I just reached 500+ posts. For me, I am pleased to reach that plateu, and I plan to reach more and more as time goes on.

Anyways, if the guy doesn't answer the e-mail, Rod will have to dole out another winner.

I was agreeing to the amount of post that are needed to enter the contest, I do believe it should be higher, well no more than 1000 post :lmao becuase a lot of people just do +1 and stuff to get to just 150 just to enter the contest.

I agree with the rule as is but i find your attitude a little harsh evrybody has to start somewhere and whe you started you did at 0 like evrybody else. The rule is fair and gives a chance to new members (like me when i'll get 150+ posts) who enjoys and get involved with this forum to win stuff too !!! BTW Rodney the idea of ranking babes is a good one !! (why guys should have ranking and girls none?) and TGM should have a special mention since she is by far the most active babe in this forum:thumb

I don't think Whisp meant it that way, though... We've all seen people join up and post a certain number of times and then never be heard from again. Those are the people he's talking about - he's afraid people will register, post 150 times just to get the prize, and then vanish...

Maybe Rodney should take post content into account as well - the way he does for the 2200 posts and free case badges. That way, he can tell who's serious about it and who's just here for 733t stuff (sorry, I can't do that to save my life - but you get my meaning).

By all means, we want to people to join and post. If you can only manage to post that many times in a couple of months, that's OK. Everybody posts at their own speed and desire (right eferz :)?). But he's talking about the people that spam in for a prize and disappear again. That's not fair to those of us who are here every day posting away.

If Rodney is going to give away a prize, he should try to see that it goes to those people who contribute. If the higher post-count people weren't contributing to the forums, the manufacturers wouldn't be giving out stuff to give away.

OK well, I wanna make long story short.

Some people have only this much money to spend on their computer and others have more so the posting rule is totally perfect.

Note: The more you play around with your computer the more experience you will have and the more you know :D.

Me for example, I have enough possibilities to upgrade here a bit mod here and there and get myself familiar with things, familiar enough in fact that I can help other people out it these forums and hope I actually helped :P.

I am finally a GOLD member now and can participate too. I don't wanna brag or anything but I really worked for these 150 posts and didnt just post nonsense to get this much, and I know others have too.

i dunno wut the fuss is all about on the giveaways. i think rodney's doing a fine job. it's not up to us to makes the rules anyways. rodney has the rules and if, at times, seems a little unfair, then that's the way it is. there's a lot of peeps on this forum and there's a lot of giveaways so it's all good. i trust rodney that he always tries to make things fair to everyone in his own way, even if we don't always see how.

NOTE: This is only a guess, or a hypothesis as to how Rodney selects winners for the contests. This is only the first guess, and is only my opinion. I can not say that I know Rodney very well or such, thus this guess is very possibly inaccurate. First thought possibility:
Rodney opens up his favorite MP3 player (My guess would be Winamp, since most everyone likes that one, including myself). He takes the list of all of the entries that qualify, and makes a quick spreadsheet of them all with a number besides them. Next, he assigns a number to each person (Most likely the list would be alphabetized, and numbered accordingly numerically: 1, 2, 3, etc.). Then he takes the according number of total entries that qualify, and which ever the number may be, he takes that according number and loads up that according number of MP3's. Thus he places the mode selector from normal over to random. Now from this point of my guess, the ending can go many different ways... within this first guess, I'll try to be logical. Say for instance, that he takes time while he has his MP3 list sorting through as it plays without sound that is, when he makes another video review, OR enjoying the music as he updates his site, moderates the forums or such. After he finishes which ever task, which ever MP3 that is currently selected then, is the winning number within the list, thus he takes that randomly generated number and matches it with a name.

...well? What does everyone else think? Post up! I would be interested to hear! (As well as from Rodney himself about how he really does it).

I have never done any +1 post. Erm... and I hope that this post doesn't count as of being a +1 post either. Also, I really don't understand why anyone really would want to do those other than for any sort of requirements of any kind. To me, I wouldn't do that such at all. To me it's a waste of time and posting space. Further more, it's useless. I'm not complaining about anyone at all who does the +1 posts... merely just noting that I'm not one of them that do. Perhaps though even this post is useless that I even note this about myself? *shrugs* meh... I suppose it just makes me feel somewhat justified in that I've actually have written content within my posts (Such as the likes of this one). Perhaps the bar may be raised a little... sure thing. Hmm... That is an interesting question... Should you stick with the entry for the name you're banned for, or can you enter again with the new name.

I say you shouldn't be allowed to reenter with the new name, because it's only the good grace of Rodney that let you back in here... Besides which, then a case could be made that people could just register a couple extra times, post enough under those names, and have multiple entries (not that I'm saying anyone's doing that... I just wouldn't want it to happen that way...).

But that's just my opinion, and I'm not looking to cause trouble. Everybody's got a fair chance, and whatever's decided is fine with me...
