Try to Run Fdisk after drinking a couple of these:

http://www.malt-shovel.com.au/frames.asp?page=more.asp

I was doing fine until the second bottle - this stuff is 6.8% after that I couldn't tell my Extended from my Primary Dos Partition - most confusing!

Then I realised after adding my new WD120 Gb Hdd, that there weren't enough Molex connectors for my old Hdd as well
I have the following installed:

Matsu****a DVD
Asus CDR/W
WD 120 Gb Hdd
Seagate 20 Gb Hdd
Panasonic FDD
Thermaltake Volcano 7+ (with variable speed)

With all of this I haven't enough connectors on my crappy 300 W PSU I am upgrading my PSU to an Antec Truepower 480W to try and resolve other issues but now I ma worried about the number of Molex Connectors - anynbody know how many they have as standard?

2 bottles eh... Must be a lightweight.

About the power supply. Have you looked at the vantec ion 400W? Tis cheap and quite the good power supply.

Also thinking of this as it looks ridiculously cool:

Antec 550W "True Control" Power Supply

TrueControl control panel installs in 5.25" drive bay and still supports a 3.5" drive.
Adjust voltage outputs and minimum fan speed from the front of your case.
User-adjustable, individual dedicated circuits for main +3.3V, +5V, and +12V outputs.
Dedicated output circuitry for each voltage output, overcomes the limitations of combined output of traditional design.
Voltage Feedback to maintain accurate voltage to all components: adds stability to your system
Antec Low Noise Technology achieves the optimum balance between noise reduction and necessary cooling.
ATX12V for AMD and Intel based systems including P4.
Two double ball bearing fans.
Gold plated connectors.

I have issues with my A67V333/XP 2100 not getting the right speed (1333 Mhz opposed to 1733) so want the best solution realistically

Actually it is funny - I used to do so much DOS work like Fdisking but nowadays at work, with Ghost and images it is really rare to touch it - last year I bought some laptops from work and had to copy windows files down from a Novell Network to install - it took me and a colleague quite a while to remember

the Beer definitely didn't help!

Maro

I know - I didn't even notice I had ran out of Molexes (Molii? What is the plural?) on my PSU - Added another drive and went - Damn!

Like I said I was going to buy a new PSU (Antec 430) to try and fx an old problem - this should help!

Cheaper too

Need a new Power supply anyway!

As Austin pawers would say:

man if this doesn't work then the only other thing is some Corsair Ram - if not that then the board is dying!

I hate Asus - look under Google for "A7V333+problems"

Hmmm...I dropped Asus about 3 mobos ago. I've since bought 2 Gigabytes and an MSI. The MSI was not bad, but I've fallen in love with Gigabyte mobos. The dual BIOS is simply amazing and wonderful peace of mind to have and their new features like the DPS and whatnot is great.

Also, I thought it was the Irish who were known for drinking...

I got the gigabyte 8PE-667 Ultra and it is one nice mobo, even managed to get my 2.4B P4 up to 3.2ghz.

I'm currently drooling over the new Canterwood and Springdale boards...go have a look at their selection at www.giga-byte.com

It is - a real "Heavy" drink but really smooth. Aussie Beer is excellent - even the cheaper brands are good. This is like their boutique brand - similar to Samuel Adams!

My friend has the same processor as me with a Gigabyte and has no probs!

Well, good news and Bad:

PSU is sweet - variable speedfans on Auto is sweet!

Didn't fix my processor wrror though!

Unfortunately my new WD 120GB is cactus! - I installed XP, rebooted and nothing - just an I/O error. Much testing later it seems like the motor is dead on the drive - there is no noise at al when you boot it up - I have reverted back to my old 20Gb and will use W3K server tools to ty nad check it out.

Annoying though - the computer fair sellers are not renowned for their customer service! Luckily I am stubborn enought to stand at the end of their stall and shout how crap they are until they see sense!

Now that reminds me of something:

Maro

Not yet - you start off with HArdwood Bokken and then a BLunt steel blade - eventually (after at least 3 years) you get a sharp one. It is cool - as unlike most Martial arts, you cannot go for gradings when you want - it is up to your Master. THere are also only 10 grades

Maro
07-27-2003, 04:52 PM
That is cool!

I have made it known to all the Users I suoport that I do Sword and Archery - now they only come to me if there Machines are on Fire!!

I have 4 right next to my desk sat there - I have to get them repaired (for the third time!) this week. I can't face it as the company that fixes (supposedly) always asks for the S/N which is about 200 digits long!!!
