Hahaha what a misguided person you are :) The US has been keeping the middle east in unrest from day 1, I suggest you read some Noam Chomsky or even watch Distorted Morality a lecture by Chomsky so you can understand just how terrible the US is in the middle east. With out the US in the middle east there would have been peace a decade ago easy.

Also check the vetos the US has made to keep Isreal killing all those palastinians with the US Helicopters and military aid.
Look at the history of the US moving away its fleets so it wouldn't have to warn its ally Tunisia of an incoming attack by isreal. Realise how messed up the facts are? I like the US still as the people are good, but its the most atrocious regime in history.

You are slightly misguided there my friend. Alot of the very best soldiers we have in our military are doctors, teachers, computer experts, engineers, arthichets, lawyers, and skilled workers. They come from every walk of life. Where they be just out of high school and get FREE education in high paying excellent jobs or seasoned soldiers that are called up from their everyday job to serve. Having a good academic abilty is a requirement! Who wants a soldier who just shoots. He/she needs to know how to use a weapon and improvise in the field or they will come home in a body bag.

I admit that I feel that the Canadian soldier is far better trained... he relies far more on his wits than the tech that is available to the US ranks ;)

But it is that tech that has to make your average GI more than the 'Grunt' that most civies think man their nation's army

Tanks are loaded with communication, GPS, targetting equipment,
you think you can stuff the average punk kid who's grown up on video games into such a situation without overload? That trooper will have to sift through all that info to get his target

'Dumb' it down a little to the infantry... sure he doesn't have to worry about how a tank targets, but he has to know where his buds are, he has to know the objective, arcs of fire, timings, other friendlies in the area, his grid location, know what weapons to use in which instance... and keep his wits about him when the sh... stuff hits the fan
