Ok, well I herd the Ataris new cover of "Boys Of Summer". They did an amazing job, nothing out of whack but kept the simplicity of the song and his voice is perfect when he kind of yells them lyrics like, "I can I tell you...!". Now like a month ago I told my band we should cover this song. Kind of pissed me off.
Post your favorte songs or even some suggestions for songs my band (punk) should cover...

That is a great one, Jimi's is better than the original. I like Vandal's cover of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairys. Dynamite Hack's boys in the hood is pretty good. That is all I can think of now.

Run DMC's version of 'Walk this Way' having Aerosmith involved lends it some 'credibility'
Of the covers I absolutely hate, it has to be Lennie Kravitz bast*rdizing American Women, somehow it sounds all wrong
Not to mention he's an American singing about American Women, I would have prefered it more if some band NOT from the States would cover it... BNL for one... or the Proclaimers... Northern Pikes... or the Rolling Stones even

If the Barenaked Ladies covered the song American Woman....I'd have to personally ensure a very long, very painful demise for each and every member, and whoever at the record company let it happen...and whoever thought it was good...because I have no doubt that BNL could never, ever, do a respectable cover of that song. :Holy Crap

I think they would do a darn sight better than Lenny Kravitz
But you're right, No one could do a better job of American Woman than the Guess Who
Still, I like BNL, their music isn't depressing, I can actually understan what they're singing about
