Due to the massive stores of good beef in our area, the supermarkets are practically giving the stuff away

We need a small freezer

Lady C came back from the store toting over $100 of bottom blade steaks for about $22. Didn't bother waiting for the weekend to start having a BBQ, we couldn't fit all the meat in the icebox of the refrigerator. I'm not talking a lousy cut of beef either, none of the steaks was less than 1/2", probably ~10 oz, there was 8 of em :KICKASS

I hear we're now going to distribute some of these good prices out to Ontario.:wavey

OMG I couldn't believe the BSE being worse than in Germany. The companies making beef products lost so much money that people couldn't buy almost anything meat. Producers tried to mix beef with other meat to selll the beef they had...HORRIBLE!

And then the TV trick. TV People went to supermarkets and stuck a piece of wood into beef meat which was supposed to expire in 1 day. Then they came back in 3 days and the same piece o' wood in there and new expiration date!!! A lot of you must've heard this before...but it's just horrible!

Oh BTW, you could sell that meat on Ebay!

The Funny thing is you cannot catch BSE from Steak - the muscle mass is too dense for the BSE carrying Prions to advance thorugh. I was at Uni when the British BSE crisis started - I lived off steak! Unfortunately it made Chicken more expensive. Mind you thee is a new problem in Europe now - "Rubber Chicken" If you have been to a cheap restaurant then you will have undoubtedly tasted it - really chewy, grey chicken.

This is what they do:

Unscrupulous dealers inject the chicken with up to 40% water and beef/Pork Protien to "Beef" (excuse the pun!) it up!!

I feel sick!

With the weekend coming up and our weekly ritual of Steak on the last day of the work week... :KICKASS

Barbecue and Big Rock

Lady C will have her Apple Cider

I guess I don't need to buy meat for awhile... but I'll just check what the prices are

There's a big Barbecue at the American/Canadian border at Coutts this weekend
The 'caravan' started all the way up in Manning, traveled to Edmonton, then through Calgary to the border
25000 Hamburgers will be on the grill in an effort to rally support for opening the borders to Alberta Beef. The mayor of Brooks AB has been all through Montana to make the people aware of the event. They want the border open too, they supply feed for the cattle farmers, they're losing money as well

All this for one cow... we haven't found others with BSE. At least we made it known, unlike what happened with SARs
