Yup another High School THread.

What were your Favorite and Worst courses you've ever taken during your high school career?

My favorite courses:
Advanced Math 122
Calculus 120
Independent Studies: Macromedia Flash
Independent Studies: HTML
Modern History 1?2
Computer Science 110
Computer Science 120
Tech Support 110 (Doom I network anyone? Scorched earth anyone? :) Hey I think our computers are infected with a virus. Yeahah Junkie!!! Someone in my class actually inserted a CPU the wrong way and when he turned the copmputer on we can smell this burnt odour and we were like what's that smell? How can someone insert a cpu the wrong way? Isn't it only goes in 1 way and one way only? Oh yeah someone brought a disk in and infected most of the computers with virus called Junkie and we had to clean every disk and computer we have. We have old computers too. 286 to Pentium 75. Good times.)

More tomorrow...

Physics, Chemistry and Math hands down

The subject matter was good, but the teachers really made the course
You have to like a class where two of the Math teachers are throwing a frisbee while the students are taking a test. Of course, the people taking the test were also the ones that would join in AFTER they had completed the test.

I hated high skool so much. I hated all classes. Being an adult now made me realize how much high skool was a total waste of time. If I would have known what I knew now I would have skipped my last 2 years & went to a community college & then college or uni.

That's what I'm planning, Community College for 2 years and then transfer for some real classes. I wanted to be a C++ programer but since most of the jobs are "headed" over seas so companies can pay them less I might have to change carrieres (sp?):banghead :bomb

Wouldn't you waste more time if you go to community college then college then to univerisity instead of high school? Most Technology programms in College are 2 years and a university program is about 4 years. That's 8 years!!! Don't forget about tuition fees!!!
And the math skills if you plan on going to university. University Calculus will be very very very hard if you don't take high school calculus. If you are to take calculus in college; it would still be very hard since you skipped the important skills in high school. Dervivatives is a very big topic in university calculus. If you don't know what it is then you're screwed.

Oh forgot to mention it will be harder to get in a university if you don't have a high school diploma. Most if not all universities requires you to meet the entrance requirements. So you will need certain courses from high school with a certain mark inorder to be accepted.

I strongly adviced you to stay in high school and do the best you can to achieve the highest mark you can get so you can get an entrance scolarship to a university. Oh one other thing: there will be hundreds of scolarships and bursaries available to potential grads. So stay in high school and when you're in grade 12; apply to as many scholarships and bursaries as you can. Someone in my school recieved 13 scholarships/bursies and if you add all those up it's alllot of money.

My plan is to stay and finish HS! Here you just can't "skip" it. We have certin plans that you can take and for me the Computer Science field/degree has a plan of taking all your basics after HS in a community college CHEAPER and then switching to a University to finish the degree with the classes that fit it. Of course you have to take 5 classes instead of the usual 4 but who cares? On scholorships...Yeah right! I have never been involved with any after school activities and make "average" GPA. For a GPA scholorship you need to be 3.7 +.

Besides I don't like the idea of people throwing money at me for college but when you don't do what they want, BAM! it's gone. I figure I will pay my way through college since my folks said I could stay home but I want out ASAP.:wavey
