I'm sure you've all seen the Star Wars Kid movie and the many remixes out there. Well, looks like his parents have decided to sue the families of the four boys who put the video on the net. They're claiming $160,000 in damages. Here's the article over at Wired News (http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,59757,00.html).
I really feel for the kid. I mean, we all do stupid, embarassing things when we're alone and never, ever intend for them to become public entertainment for the masses. I don't think these boys knew what they were unleashing. What do you all think?
Oh, there's also an online petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/Ghyslain/petition.html) to get Ghyslain a part in Episode III (already has over 16,000 signatures). I wonder what everyone at Lucasfilm thinks of all this.
Go Geeorge, give him a part!

i watched the movie...what was so funny about it? it wasnt as funny as they described it. i mean...how can a kid be scarred for life for something like that??? its not THAT funny...
Yes it was!
To be ridiculed by your peers is bad enough - by people all over the world - that would be unimaginable. It would take a very strong individual to shrug that off

Yeah, what Maro said. Especially if you never meant for anyone else to see it. I mean, look at some of these comments (http://www.waxy.org/archive/2003/04/29/star_war.shtml). Not exactly constructive criticism.
Defintely true - he would be Mortified!
I hope he gets the part - it would be Karma

I want him in! I'll sign any petition. Why not? Kid has enough guts to do something like that, he should get some kind of reward. :)

I just found two other ones that where remakes of that.
One was Star wars kid reloaded, and the other was star wars kid remix. the remix was a tad funny, however the reloaded one was more ta****l. and shocked it was not that horrably badly done if you have seen the original.

I've never even heard of this video, but from what I read on the link, that poor kid. I did stuff like that. I made bows and arrows after watching Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The kid was having fun. Those other little !@#$% didn't have any right to do that.
I'm signing.
