Because it is 10x faster just to say what it is in words, the wallpaper is the Master Chief (sp?) from a Halo 2 wallpaper bungie made running Windows 2000 at 1280x1024. I ordered Windows XP Pro and it is coming in on Tuesday.

I ended up searching for that t-shirt she has on online, but can't find it anywhere :(.

She's my favorite J-Pop singer. :D I highly recommend you download her songs! They are very high energy. Look for songs from her Super Eurobeat albums (1 and 2). Also, get "A Song For XX", "Teddy Bear", "Evolution", "M", "Audience", and "Boys & Girls". Check out this Ayumi site (http://home.no.net/ayumi/), for the lyrics so you know what she's singing about. ;)

Well, this wallpaper is the one I use for the PC at the office. Apparently, this one has been deemed acceptable. Most of the girls in the office have said, "wow, she has a nice back!" or something to that effect when they see it. So, I consider it safe... besides it has an artsy appeal to it.

Except, I know its her from the Jansport Ads they were running a while back, and that's good enough for me.

As for the movie, Tuxedo. I enjoyed it, but its about par with all the new Jackie Chan flicks where he is paired with an American Co-Star. (i.e., Rush Hour and Shanghi Noon) And Jennifer is as silly and salacious as she always is in her movies. :thumb

I went to....

1. desktop properties->appearence->advanced

2. select icon from the drop down menu

3. I selected: font - arial, bold

Plus the white background helps it out a lil.

I don't know, I haven't tried it...but on my other computer with the MSI KT3 Ultra2-c the onboard audio sounds fine, and has less hiccups as long as you get the right drivers loaded...

I'm seeing all these lame Windows XP desktops with too many Icons... Your precious 3d rendered desktops and fancy icons chop a few frames per second off silly UT 2003. Disable the entire active desktop and go with an ugly solid color :D

Usually for porformanse sake, i have all the extra "Fancy Crap" disabled with a plain dull color on my desktop. you can Really see an improvment. But i have to have my mellon girl, shes just so beautiful.

I knew about the high overclocking potential, just not the Costa Rica part... You really do your research :)

Say... I have a question (not about desktops). Do you think it's worth going from a T-bird 1.4 to a 2400+ Athlon? I've had my eye on it for the last month. It's on par with the P4 2.5 GHz, all except for memory bandwidth !!! Also, I've been itching to throw on my fairly new Swiftech MCX462+ heatsink.... ohhhh baby :Sigh

Actually, i have an Abit KX7 333 running right now... It obviously supports the new athlon chips and is supposed to overclock wonderful. I can really push my regular old crucial memory to the limits with this board :) As for the 2400+, i feel guilty about forking over the money... *Evil rush says BUY IT or die!!!* LOL I suppose it's worth the money, the cheapest i saw was at accubyte for $193...

I'm going to get off topic for a sec...went to check out that FOTR gift set on amazon.com. It's quite nice! I'm reading LOTR right now, over 1000 pages of pure w:eek:w. There is a lot more in the book than they could ever put in the movie.

Still using my Spidey wallpaper :). Unless there's a better one out there, I'll be keepin' it.

He and I both (unlike the rest of the world) like our temps in reported in F, not C. And 78 is the mobotherboard temp, where 113 is his CPU temp. Actually, those are quite good temps...

guess i should have clarified that post... hehe... that desktop shot is my office machine at the Forge.... Duron 900 with stock aluminum HSF and only 2 case fans.... that and there is no A/C in my office (server room).... maybe someone else besides me would like to express discontent with that statement.... that's why i can still go to work in short sleeves and it be 30F outside..... my XP1800+ at home (where i'm posting now) is a cool 85F or so.... and just to keep on topic, here's a pick of my desktop.... to spice it up, i put on a picture of my friend Kev dressed as Captain Caveman at a friend's halloween party last month

ya, im using stylexp which you have to pay for after a 30 day trial, but they also have some kind of patch on their site for free that from what i understand, allows you to use themes without the style xp software (though i havent tried it).

fire daemon is a program that allows you to run script files... such as batch (.bat), perl (.pl), VBScript (.vbs), and many others as services in windows. <--- not a direct quote. basicly it allows you to run programs so if the crash windows will automagicly start them back up for you.

Teddy bears are my downfall...can't pass one without picking it up and giving it a hug :kiss. Won't mention how many little bears I have.

But Nvidia Dawn's face has such life like features for an animation! The freckles, facial lines, and blood vessels in the eyes show us where generated characters are going. Soon you will not be able to tell the difference between real and not. Thank goodness they made her with pixie-like features. I don't think I could handle a Christina Agullera lookalike either :).

eqw lets you run everquest in window mode. And bypass the patcher if you like to(though you still need to run it if your files arn't upto date otherwise you can't connect.

Anyways i'm too lazy to either open that folder so I just use the shortcut...anyways I moved the eqw folder off the desktop

Hey, I had the same problem before... Try hitting shift-printscrn, then paste it to Photoshop, then just save as jpg

Just pressing [Prt Scrn] by itself is good enough for desktop snapshot. If you wanted to limit it to just the active window then you would use [Alt] + [Prt Scrn]. And also, not everyone has Paintshop. You can use Paint in Windows XP to save the in either .jpg or .gif formats.

Also, Rodney has this 800x600 maximum resolution law on pictures. Unless you have Photoshop or a good graphics program to resize the image, change the resolution of the display to 800x600 before make the snap shot.

Okay okay... Sorry i gave a half assed explanation, I'm in the middle of coding a very boring VB Lab. I just said Shift-PrintScrn because I'm so used to QBasic. Nah, not everyone has Photoshop but it's messed up that windows2k doesnt support jpg's under PaintShop. 800x600 was not a problem for me, being that's what my desktop is anyway...

All you people and your 13000000x98,000,000 resolutions!

Heres my desktop, Its normally run at 1600x1200
so I had to scale it down in Photoshop 7.
The writing is a bit blocky.
Still clear though. :)
