OK, now that Two Towers is out

Did you waste time on the forum the day it came out or did you watch the movie... AGAIN!

and did you buy the movie? or rent?

As for Lady C an I, we spent the evening infront of the tube watching the movie(if we weren't beating on the kids to go to be quiet and go to sleep)

Interesting observation by C, Gimli was the comic relief for Two Towers since Merry and Pippin were off galavanting with Treebeard

I bought the two disk for now...first one at Wal-Mart for the midnight purchase...but I haven't watched it yet...prob. will tomorrow if I can get ahold of Sylvia tonight. :wavey

Edit: Yes, that means that when the 4 disc comes out like they did with the first movie, I'll have that, and just give this copy to my parents.

Me too!

There were a lot of people unimpressed when they bought the first one only to find the Special Edition came out later! I had to tell my G/F not to buy it for me for this reason!

So far I think Two towers was the best of the two, who knows what will happen in December when 'Return of the King' comes out.

By far the best performance, to the point that the 'actor' was a potential best supporting actor was Andy Serkis for his portrayal of Gollum

WazLady and I missed the Two Towers when it was in theaters... We'll have to rent the DVD to get caught up... And if we like it, we'll have to save our coinage for the special edition ones...

Maro: I think most of the men are actually hanging out in the Babes thread... :D

Ok, I never saw the first one until it came out on cable, it had me sucked in so now that the second one was out I couldn't wait cuz I didn't see it at the movies. There is no way I would be able to drag the wife to see it. So as soon as I get home, I slap it in the dvd player. I was disaappointed. Not as good as the first one imo, now I am stuck with the dvd that I wont watch again.

For sale $10 plus shipping here.

I have not watched it yet and do not know if I'm gonna. I watched the first one and I was pissed. I watched the damn thing for almost three hours and there was no ending. I was furious:mad: . My son seen the second one, and he said it was amazing, so I do not know. The first one just left a bad taste in my mouth.

My initial opionion was that it was not as good as the first one. However, every consecutive time I watched it, it got better. Now it's as good in my mind as the extended edition of the first one. Of course, the extended edition of the second one will blow my mind. Just hang on, Vector Man, the third one will blow everyone's mind!

Yeah, that's the problem with the second film in trilogies... They're not meant to resolve anything, so they seem kind of like filler... But the more you see them, and especially after you see the final film in the trilogy, the middle one usually seems that much better...

Look at the Matrix trilogy - the second movie was kind of just making time for the third one. But I bet when the third movie comes out, everybody will say "Oh, yeah, the second one was really good after all..."

Strange - that might be a different Bookend in the US - the ones I've seen and own in the UK and Aus, are the Pillars of Argonath - you know the massive statues that they paddle through in the first movie?

Why would part 1 of 3 or 2 of 3 have an fullfilling ending?
