RealGN.com is working on a few items; fixing email, forums, site as well as some other things. They are cleaning out the HDD and replacing a cdrom drive, etc... So everything should be back to normal fairly soon.

Please let me know if there are any problems by email gameman@3dgameman.com

Rodney, dude, my man, your hosting company sucks. Lately it seems they are down on the weekly bases. Last time I remember they were setting up a new server but the downtime is still there. I don't know what to say...

You think they would back up servers so that the sites can stay up while the main servers are being upgraded or whatever.
Most hosting companies I tslk to have back up systems such as that, that is how the garuntee 98% up time.

This hosting company appears to garuntee 60% uptime the way this site keeps going up and down, sheesh.

True but a lot of hosting companies now will actually transfer that data over to their servers for you.
But in any case if this hosting company is dong what we have been talking about now then maybe that will be different but if their not then I would suggest a "back up" hosting company to run the forums on, in case this one goes down.

not sure what rod was thinking at that time but if i lost that much data i would say bye lol

They certainly do have backups! In that particular case many months ago everyone was unsure what gear was affected. Thankfully everything was ok.

Fact is, sometimes S*** happens (we all know that) and we have to work it out and go onward.

realgn isn't that bad. Sheesh... with all the bandwidth we take up, it is amazing that they are even up at all :D

I agree with rod. Stuff happens.

Wait a minute.... I just went to the realgn website and they are part of keystreams.

WOW... how stuff changes.

I have nothing against RealGn, they are a great hosting company and hopefully they can work these problems out but I still think it would be a good Idea to have anoth hosting company to just have as a basic back up for the forums.
But when realgn is done with their issues they will be by far one of the better hosting companies.

It's weird, last week it was because of viruses etc., However, this forum is the only one that has issues on a regular basis (yes, I belong to three other forums as well). Other web sites that I visit regularly also never have problems. I think the world of your forum, Rod, but these issues have to stop. I know that you think the world of RealGN, but if it was me, I would have given them a chance to get their sh!t together (which obviously is not happening), and then I would go elsewhere. Easy as that. RealGN is obviously not giving you any respect what-so-ever, otherwise these issues would have been fixed instead of reoccuring with a different excuse.
