well i was riding on a trail a guy i knew said would be great, tight technical stuff, logs trees, rocks, snotty downhills all fun

riding riding riding, found a cut line went to the left for about 20 min got no where, so i backtracked up the cutline, (all rock steep hill very fun :D ) got to the top where i started and then found another flaged trail and follwed that, going going going, then i come to another cutlin straight, trail left

take the cutline and end up at a road to who knows where

take this road and it intersects with another larger forestry , went west which was the wrong way for 30 min, turn around, backtrack 40 min because it was uphill going east, then head east for another 20 min and i get to camp

chilling there for a few got some eats then i went and played around the trails and stuff there

guy who told me to take the trail gets back i told em what happend, asked me if i had a odometer but i didnt, then he just goes threw where i went and says it was about 20km ride or more

so me happy, not tired at all and i can still type even though i smashed my hands on a couple trees in the tight stuff

:D

I love biking...problem is, I haven't done it in about 2 years because my brother was a jerk who popped both my tires and tubes w/a Philips head screwdriver...and I've just been too lazy to go out and buy new ones, though I have to soon, because I'm gonna need a bike at OSU...too much hiking otherwise.

I know this may be a very stupid question...but honestly, what would possess you to spend 7k on a bike? Also...what does a $7000 bike offer you that something for even 1k doesn't?!

I was thinking about that too!!! Not even the compiuterized bikes with the automatic gears and driving habits automatic sensor master cost that much.

And you are wrong. The above actually made sense :Blah

For $7000, that bike better fly. I have a $1200 racing bike that I haven't touched in 4 years... I used to be a runner but now I'm a smoker... :banghead

I've got a $500 ten speed that serves me well. Usually alternate between riding 50 miles or so and running 20 miles. Now running shoes are expensive. I pay around $115 a pair for my running shoes and I go through at least a pair a month if not more.

Sounds like you had a most excellent time, Ice :).

We have found some really nice trails in the Don Valley here in Toronto. The really good bikers scream down the dirt trails and leave me in a pile of dust :rofl2.

I lost Rod on a fork in the trail one day and had to wait for him to back track. Stuck at the fork in the road, scratching me head and one guy flew past me so fast all I saw was yellow, red, and dust :lmao!

Going down loose gravel trails is scary !

-Santa Cruz Blur Frame has a VPP system, meaning that it will only activate on bumps not my pedling, so i dont waste power

-carbon fibre monkey light handle bar so it takes the weight off,

-Fox vanila front forks that make it a very smooth ride so i can rocket on the singletrack, with lockout so i can climb hills with no rob from the forks

-XTR shimano shifters and hydraulic disc brakes, newest and fastest way of shifting, like road bikes

-Maxis Crossmx XL Disc Rims
-michelein Tubeless tires

I still say that 7k for a bike is out of sight and useless....I spent like 150 on a bike like 4 years ago that handled many a 20 mile ride without problems (until my brother blew the tires out w/that screwdriver, which i haven't fixed yet). So in the interim...I run 10 miles a night and it does me just as well. :banana

this thing weighs in at about 24, 25 pounds, would be lighter if i got carbon fibre seat post and titanium egg beaters

its a sweet bike dont feel a thing on singletrack, its only for xc though doesnt take big hits
