I prefer The Next Generation. But if only the new and the original is in the pole. The original wins hands down. The stories are better and you have spock.

Can't choose.
It's so hard to pick 'cause one's a classic, and the other's just as sweet :).
We have the new Enterprise as a christmas ornament. It lights up the bridge and some of the warp coils :rofl2.

Definitely the new one. The original one had crappy aesthetics and looked like a 3rd grade science fair project. The new one looks cooler, does warp 9.99 ( I think ), and has quantum torpedoes. It's like comparing a 286 to a Sun UltraSparcIII server with 128 processors.

I can't decide between the old or the new Star Trek... but do you mean the series or the motion picture (old Star Trek)
Definitely the one from the motion picture.
I'll have to think back to when I was 6 years old and watching the series for the first time, the only thing that could be even likened to it was the space station in 2001 and comparing it with the Gemini, Apollo, and Soyus Rockets
It certainly beats the rockets that were portrayed in other sci fi movies of the sixties, things began to change after the mid 70's thanks to Star Wars

The current Archer Enterprise. It's more like a submarine in execution.

Course, it completely blows away the technology of the original series... TOS looks like Fisher Price compared to Enterprise, which takes place what? 100 years earlier?

FACTS:
The late Matt Jefferies (STAR TREK Designer) had several designs of the 'original' before he submitted what would have been the design instead of what we now have and much liked.
Matt had the final design with the warp nacelles and saucer on the bottom.:Holy Crap
Gene Roddenberry (Creator of STAR TREK) preferred the other way around.:KICK ASS
BTW, the Sovereign-class Enterprise is bigger(but not the biggest) than the 'original' Constitution-class Enterprise. :D
Also the Enterprise-E has more firepower than the 'original' (heh-heh).
Sorry, just being a 'Trekkie'.:thumb
MY CHOICE: Enterprise-E

:What the Dude, are you being sarcastic or need a refresher course in 'Trek'?[j/k]
Enterprise is set 110 years before TOS and THEIR technology is more 'dinosaur' than the era of Kirk and Spock.
BTW, read my post before this...

Yeah, but when you actually watch the series, the look of that tech is so completely advanced over the original series tech...
Which was the point of the Fisher-Price statement I made. The tech in the shows themselves may be different, but the look is totally off...

Oh, and FACT:
When the design for the Reliant in Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan was being done, a copy was sent to Harve Bennett.
Who promplty looked at it upside down and signed off on it.
They didn't have time to tell him he looked at it upside down, and that it was actually supposed to look like the Enterprise, so they went with it.

Ah, but Matt Jefferies didn't computer generated imaging nor the advanced tech we have today(FACT).
That's why NX-01 looks more advanced than it already is.
