I'm not taliking your family physician

The Dr!
Dr Who!

Alas some are no longer with us
Jon Pertwee, Peter Cushing et al

I've always preferred Tom Baker myself, he's had the job for the longest time and his cpmanions were good too

Romana played by Lalla Ward (aka Lady Sarah Ward) was one nice looking lady

After Tom, Jon and Peter Davidson are pretty high on my list... but I can't stop thinking of Veterinarians when I see Peter

Oh, yeah, Dr. Who. I'm the only one of my friends who has actually seen a Dr. Who episode (probably because I'm in the US :D and 17), but I like Tom Baker the best. He was all "teeth and curls". :Yea right

The new Dr. Who movie wasn't bad either. I think they need to make some new episodes. After all, I belive the series was the longest running show ever....

"I am...WHO!!!!!!"

I practically lived off this show when I was a teenager... Even had my grandmother knit me long scarves like Tom Baker's... Still have them, too - very nice on freezing cold days...

My favorite would have to be Tom Baker... He just did the part so well... But it's hard to choose...

Fav companion would be Peri - played by Nicola Bryant (if you've seen the pics of her in the Companions book you'll know why :D) and Ace - played by Sophie Aldred...

I can remember watching Doctor Who Sunday nights on WTTW... I have all the books and everything...

Yeah, I'm weird... :)

I have always liked the Tom Baker episodes.
Last month I read an old interview with Douglas Adams and he said that when they were doing the radio show of HitchHiker's he was writing for Dr. Who on the side durring the Tom years.
Now I know why I like them so much!!

Richard E Grant has been cast as the DOctor for Some BBC Radio plays - they are lobbying for a big budget series return with him - an inspired choice

Yeah - I've seen something about that... He was good in that Curse of Fatal Death thing they did a couple of years ago... Hugh Grant was in that... Rowan Atkinson... Joanna Lumley... And some other guy...

Pretty cool...

Jeez guys,

Another thought provoking thread goes to hell in a hand basket:confused:

Longest running British series and all you can do is make fun... and during the only two responses

The reason I posed the question is that I finally figured out who the Elf Healer was in the movie D&D

If we have two threads... it might be because I had an error the night I posted it back on Sunday... think it had something to do with the server (I assume anyway)

So I reposted... I never saw a second thread myself

OK Now

The question who is your favourite Dr
Along the lines of Who is your favourite James Bond?

Which actor was the best at portraying Dr Who
I neglected to add a poll

Here's the choices

William Hartnell
Patrick Troughton
Jon Pertwee
Tom Baker
Peter Davison
Colin Baker
Sylvester McCoy
Paul McGann

AT least my 500th post isn't a one worder

I guess given that the series ended in 1989 has caused all the youngsters to be denied the viewing of a true cult classic

It's still in syndication, spotted it on Saturday night... looks like the series is currently at the time when Tom Baker hands over the reins to Peter Davison

What! you guys don't have PBS? We get it on cable up here in the Great White North

If you're from the UK, Shame on you... BBC produced it for 26 yrs

Hmm, I must have posted when the forum was acting wierd, because I remember having the second post in this thread.

I like the fourth Doctor the best, but they were all good. I especially like the recent movie that they put out.

Unfortunately I am old enough to remember it, tho it was totally wierd, I watched it on the regular or at least when I could remember to find it on the UHF channel.

Just ran across the Official Dr. WHo site.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/
Wow this site realy took me back to when I could watch cheesey sci-fi without laughing because I was able to suspend disbelife long enough to get in to the story. I helps when there is a story, not just flash and fluff.
There are times I am jealous of my younger self.
