How to put cool things in signature?

Hey how do you guys put like those cool gifs in your signatures. I'm talking about the thing 1gigkid has in his sig.
Did he make that somehow or is it just a gif? I have seen those things in so many forums now and am wondering how to get/make one.

Except use [] instead of ().

I'm pretty sure all UBB works in sig's so that should have no problem.
