I am about to finish up my scouting career thursday. Been in scouts ever since I could and am now about to turn in my 19 page eagle project write-up and my application to the scout office.

Then I wait and see if it gets approved and then get my Board of Review done and become an eagle scout.

Problem is I turn 18 on the 25th and I need to turn it in on Thursday, but i still have to get 2 signatures, a scoutmaster conference and a paragraph on what scouting did for me.

Whooo! I'm gonna have fun.

What do you all think?

Some of the most honest trustworthy men of integrity that I know came up through the scouting program. Almost all of the Eagle scouts are highly successful. Two that come to mind without thinking are president Gerald Ford and astronaut Neal Armstrong. Nice company to be associated with.

Good Luck.:thumb

If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

Do it. If you don't, you'll regret it all your life. I know people who do, even now. I'm an Eagle Scout. My brother and my 15-year-old nephew are too. Just do it. :thumb

What was your Eagle project?

What was your Eagle project?

My eagle project was a total of 19 pages. I built 10 planters out of wood that would hold a filled 20 gallon container. There was a top that people could set drinks on. These were placed infront of a church that wanted these and were used in conjunction with a separate eagle project. The second part of my eagle project consisted of a tiered wooden retaining wall to be placed next to the furthest left corner of the church in the front in order to keep run-off from flooding the AC unit at the bottom of the hill. Hill was really steep.

I'll post some watermarked pics of my eagle project or maybe a locked PDF after it has been approved.

What is an Eagle Scout? Is that different from a normal Scout?

I was a Cub, in the Boys Brigade and finally 6 years in the Air Training Corps (up to Flight Sgt) - ATC is like the training for entry into the Roayal Air Force here:)

o god, dont remind me about my eagle project. ive been a scout since first grade and its that time now where i gotta start getting my eagle project squared away. i just turned 17, and i really have absolutley no idea what im gonna do for my project. i would(should) have started earlier, but i became the Senior Patrol Leader in my troop(for you non-scouts out there, thats the highest leadership postition in the troop) and we got a new scoutmaster. i got stuck doing pretty much everything because my scoutmaster didnt know the ropes yet. this severley cut into my time for working on my eagle project, it shifted the focus from the project to being SPL. so now, as were all getting older, and more experienced, we voted in a new SPL, which takes the weight off my shoulders, and our scoutmaster is getting better at his job. so now is time to get my act together and work on my project. right now im gonna go work on a power point presentation im putting together about my trip to new mexico with some other scouts. that was a really fun trip, ill have to post some pics some day. good luck on your Board of Review farey! Congrats :thumb

I've submitted all of my information, the application, and the project for review today. I'll find out soon what happens.

My Eagle Project write up was a total of 19 pages in length single spaced at 12 font.

Thanks for all of your replies. Don't worry there Baker_God, I did the same thing. Sat at first class for 4 years. You gotta get out of that. Because of that, if I had waited another month, I would not have been able to accomplish this.
