hi all,
soon i will have my G2 (18yrs old) and i would like to buy a car, i'm interested in getting a Saturn SL2 ('92 or '96) but i'm having problems finding a insurer. I did get a quote from one insurance company a week ago for $260 (CDN) primary driver/owner but that was for a '92 Saturn SL2.
I called to get a new quote and they said they can't (WTF!?!) anyway i need a cheap insurer (oneway) in Toronto.
Thanks

Right now my insurance is Liberty Mutual. It's 160CAD a month and I'm 19. I do have my G's but in their data base I have my G2...

I got a buddy who works as a garage, he deals with insurance claims, he told me which ones were cheap on claims and stuff. (ya, a lot of them choose to buy used crap to fix up your car).
Knowing I'm only 20, he told me if you need insurance as first driver at this age, TD Meloche Monnex. (I'm only a 2nd driver on 1 car, and 3rd drive on the other)
But yeah, he said Monnex does a lot of student insurance for a fair price comparing to other insurance company, and they aren't tight butts when it comes to insurance claims.
I think they have a free quote to do online, so give that a try.

I'm also pretty satisfied with Meloch Monnex
Though my years as a 'Driver on Probation' (in Alberta), are long since past, they never even had probation when I was in those years(16-25)
But they have special discounts for students/Alumni of certain schools employees of certain companies
Granted, though since I live in the Province of Alberta, our insurance rates are absolutely crazy, I think teens in other provinces have cheaper rates than adult drivers here... it got so bad the government finally froze rates because of the complaints
But here's the real numbers... with my previous insurer... I got stiffed 240 a month, one car... I was over 35 with a good record! With Meloche Monnex... 130, and thats a Minivan and my car!!!
