I installed the clip the the SK6 backwards because the diagram does not have a clear shot of which way it goes. I have burned the core of the AYHJA! Totally fried. Should I contact AMD for a replacement or should I contact OCZ store.

Please help me what would you do! The chip should still be under warranty I hope...

Try OCZ first and then AMD.

ohh man, Sorry to hear that.

I know what you mean by the Clip and installing it backwards I almost did it also.

I first would contact the store that I bought it at. Than AMD.

Whatever you do man Good luck with it

well if you put it backwards then the pins should be bent try bending them back as perfect as possible before you take your next step. contact your store then AMD and good luck.

Rsolo57, I have been following your tale of the fried CPU and I really feel for you, Dude. At least OCZ is willing to work with you on this. I am a little concerned about your comment that they are giving you a deal on an RMA cpu.

Does this mean that they are going to provide you with a CPU that is returned? If so, is it the same stepping as the one you originally ordered, and what was the reason for the RMA?

If everything works in your favor, then I would say that OCZ deserves a big salute. I checked them out on resellerratings.com, and their rating is middle of the pack (4.4 out of 7.0), with several very negative user comments. If they take care of you properly then I would encourage you to give them a good rating and leave a positive comment on the site. http://www.resellerratings.com/vendone.cgi?Overclockersstore

Too often it is the few people with a "negative" experience who make the most noise about a company. We should all make an effort to reward those who take care of us.

Oh, and by the way it probably wouldn't hurt to ask KDComputers if they have a contact at Thermal Right that you could voice an opinion to. It was, after all, the lack of instructions with the heatsink that precipitated this whole chain of events. I was fortunate enough to meet the owners of KD Computers last week, and they seem like very honest, helpful people. I'm willing to bet that they would make an effort to help you in any way they could.

I'm sorry, I did say RMA processor. What I ment is that there going to give me a good deal on a new processor for mhy RMA return. I guess I've been so flustered that I haven't really been paying attention to what I type.

Thanks Scottman I never thought about contacting KD Computers and Thermalright I'll keep you posted on whats going on.

I appreciate the help.
