Well, I am 15 1/2 and I want to sign up and get into a driving school so I could apply for my driving permit.
I have found 2 driving schools in my area that provide specialized student driver programs and have valid licenses.
So, I would like to ask you guys which question I should ask when I call them.
Thanks in advance for you help,
Marko

Generally just ask if they're government approved.
Past that there aren't really too many more credentials a driving school can have.

go for the shortest term. I went from starting driving school to finishing driver's training in 10 days.
Here (at least in California), first you must go to driver's ed. Once finished, you take your written test for a permit. Once you get that, they give you your learner's permit but that permit isn't valid until you have taken 2 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a certified instructor. Once you do that, you complete the rest of your 6 hrs of behind-the-wheel training and you're free to drive around as long as you're accompanied by someone over 25 with a legal California driver's license. Then, once you're 16, you take your behind-the-wheel test for your license. But that license is provisional (can't drive during certain hours, can't drive with other minors without being accompanied by an adult, yada yada yada) for, I think, 2 years. I don't know much about the provisional license thing because I got my license before that came into action plus they changed the tests since I have taken it.

Dude, hell...I didn't know the darth fetish was so smart...tsk tsk tsk.
Well anyways you got it right! I called them in and signed up. I will spend 2 complete weekends from 8:30 in the morning to 2pm with 30 minute lunch (starting this upcoming weekend). Then, I will take the written test and do the 2 hour behind the wheel so I could drive with my parents for 6 months. When I am 16 and get my provisional license I will have (insert yada yada yada here) limitations till I am 18. And if I still have yada yada limitations then someone is going to get hurt really badly...;)

UPDATE (if anyone cares):
I took my first lesson today. Damn...it was long long long. But I hope it will pay off. If everything goes like planned I should have my provisional permit by Monday or Tuesday the week after next week ;)

I have my daughter who is now 16 asking about this.
One thing is take your time.
I took my little one out in a big rig and showed her how hard it is to drive and what it takes, to drive.
I do not drive a rig, but used to a long time ago.
So just take your time, lesson and lesson and lesson. DO not be afraid to ask question about anything.
I guess I sound like an old fart.

No you are cool. Driving is one thing you must take seriously. It's a 3000 pound bullet under your control. And if you get it our of control then it can kill more people than a whole magazine of pistol bullets. OK, enough now.
Actually they say you should start driving as soon as possible after you finish your ed so you have everything fresh in your mind. And if you implement all the l33t skillz early on you are more likely to remember...

That's a lot of restrictions......
For Toronto....you get your G1 (written test)...then you can go for driving lessons etc, or drive with anyone over 25 yrs old with 5+ yrs driving experience....can't drive on freeway and can't drive from 12am to 5:30am.....wait 8 months get your G2, only limitation is that you can't drink and drive. (Not even a beer) A year after G2, then you can get your G license which then you are allowed to consume 1 drink.

Weeee...you are confusing me. I am having a hard time remembering my system. OOOOOOOOK, so...anyways ;)
Finished my second day. Now I must hold for 1 whole school week before I can do my written test and start my 2 hour behind the wheel to activate my instructors permit. Drive with my parents. FUN FUN FUN...oh only if you got a dad like mine !!
