i heard a story once...these two kids decided to put a c0ckroach in the mocrowave one day. Fascinatingly, nothing happened. c0ckroach walks around while microwave is buzzing away. This has something to do with the shape of the c0ckroach, like the way stealth fighter aeroplanes are shaped so they can escape the radar.

Same kids put a frog in the microwave another day....bang.

frog stew for dinner. or was it soup?

If you want to make a bang using your microwave, put some chlorine in it. Make sure the microwaes outside though and you're nowhere near it!!!

heh microwaves ovens work via resonance.
under the influence of microwaves, the water molecules of anything put inside will start taking in energy due to the same natural frequency, and vibrate a lot faster.
i would think the ****roach is a very dry creature as compared to the frog. if the ****roach contained any more water, it would have blown up all the same

My CD-Rom blew up... twice.
Some old samsung 42x reader i think.
I was just using it as usual, and then i hear a LOUD bang from my computer. I freaked and shut it off imedietly.
Apparantly the CD had somehow slipped of the thing that makes it spin, and collided with the side of the reader. This made it shatter into a couple million pieces.
There were parts of the shattered CD sticking out of the case, and the inside of the PC was full of glittery confetti.

Quite cool when you think of it, but it scared the hell outta me that time.

Oh, and the second time: I had warranty on the drive, so i traded it for a new one, i asked for another brand, but got a new samsung reader.
"It won't happen again" they ensured me. After one week i had to clear the case of confetti again.

I don't know the model number.
But i'm sure it's not sold anymore, this happened four years ago.

I know a guy who blew up his car stereo a few years back when he was installing it. Crossed a wire and boom! Smoke and all. Very funny, cause he was a loser who treated everybody around him like crap and it was funny to see him get his.

I've had stuff fry lots of times

I used to test PC boards out of manufacturing, and because of the odd mistake, I've gotten to know that particular burned silicon smell quite well.

I still encounter it now(not quite as often), I get boards back from the field that have had an encounter with 'techs' that don't bother to RTFM
