SO I did miss a staff meeting.
Oh, by the way, speaking of staff: I am quitting my unrelentingly horrid, unthankful, unhelped, overworked, underpaid, God-get-me-out-of-here-before-I-put-a-gun-to-my-freakin'-head job, so if anybody knows somebody who's hiring, let me know.

Reminds me of that line from Grease: "Don't something something, be an athletic supporter."

Nope.
I've worked for my father for a year and a half and I'm tired of his ineptitude and his fisting me every chance he gets. For example:
He hires an ex-con and a flake as a partner (who can't hold a job for more than 6 months because he's ADD), and then gets surprised when the partner quits after 6 months because "It's not fun anymore".
He is continually late with my paycheck, due to there never being any money in the business account.
He has over $5000 in Accounts Receivable, but refuses to do paperwork or send bills.
He leaves me here all day every day to deal with the public, manage inventory, do all computer work, answer phones, and anything else he can think of, but refuses to grant me any managerial powers or responsibilities.
He asks my advice, and then does the exact opposite.
He's more interested in consulting than running the store, so he avoids this place as much as possible (including not doing any computer work on Saturdays, which is the only time he actually has to be here).
He hires some fool high-school kid to work part time, even though we can't really afford to pay him, and then doesn't train him properly, so I have to go back over everything he does and fix it.
Sorry - I don't mean to unload on you, but I have to get it out before I start punching people. I have 5 computers right now that I need to work on, that have been in the store from a period of last Friday until today, and no help from anyone. I've got people calling me every 20 minutes for their computers and they ***** at me when i tell them they're not ready. I've got people calling us complaining about "garbage we put on their system" - and I've never heard of them (they certainly never came in here). There's no money in the bank, so no inventory can be ordered, and I can't get paid. And all the while he whines about how he has to drive all over town to fix computers.
I don't even get the lunch break I'm supposed to get by law. I haven't left the store or eaten lunch in about two and a half weeks. I get no vacation, and have to beg for time off when I'm sick.
I don't like my job. Or, rather, I would like my job if I didn't have to be his peon all day everyday. He doesn't want me as a partner, though - he'd rather either have an ex-con, or no partner at all, than his own flesh and blood, who's slaved for him since this place opened.
I don't know what else to do. I'm quitting for my own health. Ask WazLady how bad it's been.
I suggest a Coup
I understand - I am looking around at the moment as well - my Manager has just got a great promotion form all the hard work my Cohorts and I have done.
UIs he grateful? No - I had to actually ask if he was going to renew my COntract. Plus all the promises that were made last year are Null and void.
Luckily for me I only have to give 2 weeks notice so I will pick and choose my time!

Rod - can I make one small suggestion?
Can the title say "3GM Contributing Member" instead of just "Contributing Member"? That way it matches the rest.
I know, it's a little thing. But I'm anal that way.

As in the movie "Office Space" - the dry erase board that says "Planning to Plan"...
Will there be overheads?

Yes...overheads and powerpoints:Nice
And the one corporate catch phrase I like "Take Aways". Not trinkets or anything...but things to "Take Away" from the meeting...like notes, thoughts, ideas and such.
I will never forget I was in a marketing meeting at work and the guy kept saying "Now the things you can "take way" from this meeting is this....."
And I thought we were getting something....like a shirt or coffee mug....
Oh...there will be plenty of "10-4" voting too....
