When I packaged my rma items (Motherboard and Memory) I reused the box that they actually sent the motherboard to me with when I first bought it. I also reused the bubble wrap that was used to protect the memory when they first shipped it to me. I then wrote the two rma numbers on the outside on two different sides with a blue sharpie and I printed out a piece of paper showing the two rma numbers to whoever opens the package first that there are two items inside. They processed the motherboard very quickly...happy about that. But now they are telling me that they never recieved/processed the memory?!?!?:What the :What the How the hell can't they recognize their own work? (bubble wrapped the exact same way they did to the memory) Now I'm going back and forth with new people each time I call in to find out what |diot misplaced my memory. If I don't figure something out soon I'm out the 1024mb mushkin and $290 :banghead
If this happens I will never shop with newegg again.
I would just love a 1 on 1 with whoever opened my package first :bomb

I feel for ya man!
I had to return a CPU. They said I had fried it but I didn't and so there was a lot of chat over the phone - It's like you're so blind to what they're doing - if they're doing anything at all:Sigh
You just think they have a table laid full of returned components. No order, no labelling - just a mess!

I buy my Mushkin (http://www.mushkin.com/epages/mushkin.storefront) only from the company store. Then you deal with Mushkin directly for RMA's and they are fast....very, very fast.

Yeah that really suxs big time the last thing I ordered from them
was a CD-RW and had to pay the  tax  and guess where it
was shipped from *yelp Cali * but still had to pay TN tax on it and
wait 3 days for it to arrive here  I wouldn't mind so much if it
was shipped here in TN that way you would get it the next day at
express shipping charges. When you have to pay shipping charges
and tax then have to wait 2-3 days to get it then it is just about
as cheap to just go to Wally Mart and get it damm wish I still had
my tax number guess I'll just have to get me another # again :thumb
or start buying from another vendor :Sigh

HQ and Warehouse are two different things...The company must charge taxes in whatever state they put up a camp. Sux...
One day I looked at their site and it said "YAY...now shipping from California". Me="Nay, now asking for taxes in California".
Mach...I am sorry man, but I am positive that it will all turn out good ;)

I just dont want them turning it around on me saying that I never even packed it and I'm just trying to get free memory :| somebody replied with that on a different forum and I tore them a new one.
They also said that since I bubble wrapped the memory (even tho you could see right through it and see blue and silver heatspreaders) that they could have just thrown them out with the other bubble wrap I had in there.

$290 mushkin? you got the level 2 kit =o I couldnt pay that much so I got the level 1 kit ;-\ I would never have sent two RMA's in one box. I had the same thing happen to me once. I had just placed a big order for someone (2.5k) and have placed many orders in the past (and since then too, actually) I said I would cancel it if they screwed me and take all my business elsewhere. That didnt phase them a bit, but the lady I talked to suddenly got defensive when i asked to talk to whoever was in charge =) Couple days later I got an automated e-mail saying the rma item was received, because they just decided to let it go or because they really found it, who knows.

How dare any of you bash newegg or any of there services! They have been bringing there great products and most of all there great PRICES to us for many years. NewEgg has been nothing but dedicated to providing an ideal online computer component buying experience. The thing that makes me angry is how your mad about paying tax’s for there products, but this due to state and federal laws they must charge tax’s to citizens that live in the same state that they conduct physical business in. Newegg has earned countless awards for there customer satisfaction and appreciation. Even with the tax Newegg is able to beat most if not all of there competitions prices. I challenge you to find a better e-store. I have given my business to new egg for the past 3 years and have been nothing but satisfied and impressed over and over again weather it be the hundreds of items they carry with free shipping or the ease and speed of product replacement. I’m sure Newegg is doing there best to fix the situation you are in but remember that Newegg ships over 2,000 packages a day. With numbers like that there is going to be mishaps (shipping, manufacturing, ext) that will result in a DOA product for many people. The fact that when you call Newegg and talk to PERSON (so what if it’s not the same one every time) and not a machine shows effort to satisfy all of there customers…. even you. Newegg ROCKS! :)

I don't think any company is perfect. Some will have great experiences with them, and some might not. Nothing wrong when someone shares their experience with us here.

stimpy please calm down don't be angry be happy :spin ;) I'm not bashing newegg about
them charging me taxes I know that they have to now, it's just that now it cost me more and I
have to charge the one(s) I'm getting the parts for, more and when they can go somewhere else
and get them at the same price or cheaper if shipping has to be paid on the parts than what I can
sell it to them for and get it right there on the spot and not have to wait 2-3 days for it so unless
I'm willing to sell it to them at cost and not make any money at all on the parts then I'm going to
loose my customers. I only had a 12% - 18% markup on the parts so that way I could sell them
cheaper than any of the stores around here but now with the tax it eats up any profit that I could
have made if I add the tax in it means that I now have to charge them at least 22% - 28% more to
make the same amount of money which = store prices here and no waiting for the parts which = me
with no more sales :Crying Yes I have done LOTS and LOTS of business with them over the years many,
many, many, thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of business with them and never had much
trouble out of their parts yes I've had a few RMA's and they screwed some of them up big time but
they always made it right in the end with me so I have no big complaints except they have been
known to loose your returned parts from time to time :Yea right Yes there is some online stores that beat
some of newegg's prices but not very many could with newegg's free shipping and no tax but now
with the tax and shipping on some things they come pretty close to the same price or a little
cheaper sometimes even with having to pay shipping when buying from them.

hehehehe glad to hear that your not angry for long, yeah I guess
that I will have to try and get me another tax id to get the parts
from them without the tax added on but then I still have to charge
my customers the sales tax because the state will wonder why
if I have the tax id why I'm not paying them any money so I guess
it's a no win either way I go. The answer to your question of where
do we buy our parts from I can only say for myself but I have always
at least 98% of the time bought them from newegg but like I was
saying in my other post there is a few online stores that come close
to newegg's prices but some if not most all of them do not have the
selection of parts that newegg does :Crying a couple that come to mind
right off hand is tigerdirect and dealsonic and of coarse outpost and
tcwo and bestbyte and nexfan and a few more that I can't think of
the names right now but like you were saying about newegg not all
of them offer free shipping on most of their parts :Sigh but some of them
have a flat rate shipping charge of like $5 - 8.00 for up to 100 -150 lbs
and none of them charge me tax online........well not yet anyway:banghead
only a couple of the others that I can't think of right now charge me
the tax but I quit doing business with them when they started charging
me the online sales tax :surrender that's probably why I can't remember
who they are anymore hehehe :lmao

Stimpy, if your first post is the way your attitude's going to be, please take it elsewhere. I have been one of the biggest newegg supporters on here, and elsewhere, for YEARS. I have sent them a ton of business. And now I feel really screwed by this latest development. If I want to b*tch about the whole thing, I will.
Do you work for newegg? You act like it. The last thing we need is a shill for some business poking their nose into the discussions around here, no matter how great the company is.
We pride ourselves on fair discussion around here. If you can abide by that, welcome! We're glad to have you! But if you're here to bash folks for speaking their minds... :smash

I buy from newegg... but I just got a little upset because not once but twice I recieved damaged memory from them. I need to contact them about re-imburing part of the cost of my next day shipping to them.
The first time I RMAed to them. The second I RMAed to GEIL USA.
The guy on the phone said they would re-imburse me 15.00 of my shipping cost of 30.00
I'll buy from them again but I'll buy a different product. The way they packaged that specific product was very bad and I packaged it better when I shipped it to them than when they shipped it to me.... both times.

When they "lose" an item of yours that costs 300+ bucks and say its your fault, thats a pretty big f*ckup X-o But they have ALWAYS come through in the end for me, every single time. Without fail.
I ordered once from googlegear, (before it was zipzoomfly) and they took 2 weeks to send me a few small items in a tiny box =|

Nope it's not 8.75% I think they are basing it on the state capitol or
Nashville tax rate or maybe on the county that you live in the last
thing I bought for a girl was the CD-RW on sale at $32.00 and the
tax on it was $2.96 which equals out to be 9.25% I just now went
and did another check of the tax and on a $39.00 computer case it
is going to run $3.61 which = 9.25% which sucks even worse than
the 8.75% would have :Nope :Crying hell our tax rate here in Warren county
is now up to 10% on non food items and 9% on food

No new information from them yet but I just typed up a good email. What do you guys think before I send it?
Hello,
For the past 4 or 5 days I have been on the phone with customer service to try and figure out what is happening with my RMA. I packaged both
10226930 (Abit IS7-E) and 10226896 (Mushkin 1024mb Memory) in the same box. I put the motherboard in and then bubble wrapped the memory with the same bubble wrap that it was shipped to me in and put it in the box so that it would also keep the motherboard from sliding around the box. I put bot RMA numbers on two different sides of the box and then had an 8x10 piece of paper with the RMA numbers and the description of the item like 10226930 (Abit IS7-E) and 10226896 (Mushkin 1024mb Memory) printed on the piece of paper in Big Bold letters with my home address in the corner of the page, It was like this only a lot bigger:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jason Banas
2111 Davis Ave
Whiting, IN 46394
RMA Contents Include:
RMA# 10226930 (Abit Motherboard)
*AND*
RMA# 10226896 (2pc Muskin Memory)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The motherboard was successfully recieved and shipped out to me very fast and efficiently but somehow my memory was not recieved at the RMA recieving warehouse? I have talked to a customer service supervisor and he sent an investigation request to the RMA warehouse and I called yesterday and the guy on the line (I think his name was Marco) sent another request to the RMA department. I have not had any new information during this time sent to my email so I'm guessing the RMA department has not investigated this issue.
I have also included a link to an image of my RMA Status web page:
http://www.smartgroups.com/picvault/19419274.JPG/RMA_status.JPG
I do not understand why there are two listings under my Motherboards (Abit IS7-E 10226930)? I'm just speculating here but it could have been possible that whoever opened my package might have been rushing through my items and accidentally "recieved" the memory under the motherboards rma number so it was never put into your RMA computer that it was recieved.
I wouldn't want this mixup to alter my interest in Newegg, I have spent nearly $1,000 ($985.10 exactly) in components with each one giving me nothing but a positive attitude towards newegg and reviewing the process at different websites accordingly. I was even impressed on how fast the motherboard got here after I shipped it off. I have even went through the RMA process in the past with a positive outcome from that (10160178 another set of memory).
I was going to call today but when I got off from work your office was already closed and I work the same hours tommorrow so I'm just emailing this to you in hopes of recieving some kind of information on this problem.
Also when I was on the phone before even packaging the items I was told that I could be reimbursed $10 of my shipping cost. I took a picture of my reciept for your records to possibly get that taken care of also.
http://www.smartgroups.com/picvault/19419306.jpg/RMA-Mail-Reciept.jpg
Hopefully this will help speed the process up.
Sincerely,
Jason Banas

Becuase California has a lot of different counties with different taxes they let you choose where you live so you could pay tax accordingly.
This sucks for me, because I have to pay 8.75% but for some people in other conties it might be 6.25%. Some other companies just say 8.75% cuz they reside in Silicon Valley and when it's time to pay taxes they cash in...

One of the little CF readers that looks like a USB drive. You just stick the card into the side. I figured it would be easier to use than one with a cord. $10 for the reader and $5 shipping, $1.07 for tax. I'm surprised they didn't charge tax on the shipping too.
Wait a minute... That's only 7%. I wonder where the warehouse is. The tax rate here is 8.75% also.

packages are automatically insured up to a certain amount.
What happened was two RMA's were in the same package.

Well, I just received my CF reader. They also sent me a 256MB stick of laptop memory. (You'd think they could have at least sent a CF card...) Luckily, I wasn't charged for it, and they are paying to get it back. They must still be shell-shocked from the Christmas rush. :rofl2
I'd say how well the reader works, but the USB ports on my computer have stopped working. So, I ordered a USB 2.0 card from newegg. We'll see what I get extra this time. :devil

I noticed this in the shipment details
DDRAM 512MB|PC3500 991096 MUSHKIN% *
NOTE dd *
*Extended warranty items
is this the warranty that you pay to extend for N # of years when you place your order?

I've been noticing that newegg has started selling "extended warrantys" on all their stuff. It happened with the website change. It's the beginning of the end. Instead of products, they are going to be focussed on "marketing". No warranty, no service. Just wait and see...

hehehe.... what's black and blue and read all over?
Your memory. Kinda lame but whatever. I'm sure you can push that chip higher than that. Up those voltages on the memory.
I had my geil PC3500 (433) at 470@2.9v and my processor (2.4C M0) at 3.4GHz@1.6v 5:4 and was almost stable. Darn Northbridge.
