If possible try asnd get a stopover on the way - I have stopped over in Bankok:devil , Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Japan and Dubai - it takes the edge off.

Easy to get a one year Visa - not so easy to get the 4 year one I am on - it has all changed recently. Luckily for me My G/F is Aussie:devil
