I like the first one - a nice, clean, professional look. Like something you'd see in a magazine/advertisement.
Not sure about the second one, I think it's the wood or maybe the lighting but there's something about it. Maybe if it were sitting on a marble table or something shiny and black? dunno.
Otherwise good pics! :beer

Best my olympus 3mp can do. I always stay as far back as I can and zoom in fully (optical not digi zoom). Most of the time it takes a few shots to get a good one

Read some of these reviews (http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=47&sort=7&thecat=2) and follow the links to the other reviews and sample pictures. I would not try the Sigma lens because there really is not that much of a price difference and I don't think you would be pleased with it.

If you are into this kind of photography, the Tamron 90mm is supposed to be one of the sharpest lenses in that focal length. However...Tamron just upgraded the lens, so I'm not sure if that applies to the new one or not. I know the older one is highly prized.
Ed made a good recommendation of the Fred Miranda site. I would suggest that you do as I do. Study the posts in their forums (http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/). There is some amazing pictures being posted in there, and they usually are glad to explain how they took them. I've learned a lot from the guys (and gals) in there. If you like macro shooting, they will humble you at first. But, you'll quickly come up to speed. Their forums are an invaluable resource...

You should know, that i'm new to the wonderful world of Cameras.
So there will be some "stupid" questions from me, from time to time :D
Here is one: Is there no zoom whatsoever on the lens ?

Here is one: Is there no zoom whatsoever on the lens ? No. It's just the single 100mm focal length. I found a gallery (http://www.pbase.com/burnettjn/macros) of pictures taken with the Tamron 90mm on the 300D for comparison.
The only "stupid" questions are the ones not asked... :thumb
