WiebeMan what kind of rules do they have there? Like speed limit, where can you bring your animals, how many hours a day do people usually work there, how long is lunch there, what is the food like, is it always cold there a lot of the time, etc?

Its a bit boring here to be honest.

Still twice as fast as Oz - plus Cable has more penetration!

It ia not all bad - I still Love Blighty!

I really like Britain...

They are very conservative by nature but are also very liberal...well-balanced in general...

London is so cool...so big with so much history...

It's a society where there isn't alot of forced rule and order...everyone is just polite and happy...hey, the policemen didn't even carry guns till about 20 years ago...

So your more of a cat person? I like either but had cats all my life. Even when I was a baby. Though I love all animals the same. Even tigers, etc.

Thanks!

No, but as a general rule of thumb your society is very polite and well mannered...almost as nice as Canadians....

But yeah...I spent a week in London and enjoyed every minute of it...

I agree.

Attractions wise, there are quite a few theme parks and Alton Towers is pretty big but getting on 3 major rides in a day out is stretching it lol - massive long queues

Hey, I'm sure you guys have seen the Blackpool commercial quite a while back on TV.....how pathetic was that?:lmao
They really struggled to film something good for that commercial....I mean someone playing an arcade machine? What's up with that?

EDIT: as for the beach.....I don't dare to swim in that sewage lol...Are there any clean beaches in the UK? lol

England is not really bad at all - no-one keeps to the speed limit!

I am just a wanderer - I as alway s leaving the UK. I cam here but if I am unable to stay then I will move to NZ or Canada

As for our attitude - the sterotypical "Posh" Englishman is quite rare - we are mostly you cheeky, chirpy chappy that gets the job done (as portrayed in all the old war films). That is why I love Australia as the average Aussie has the same attitude.

I have also been working at least 3 days a week since I was 14:eek: Ledt home at 16 and arrived here in Oz with 3000 Pounds to my name.

It's not as hard as it sounds - my mum brought me up to pay the bills first then wahtever is left over is "Fun" money. A lot of people tend to spend their money first on toys berore they pay their bills. That is why it is important to work, even part-time, when you live at home so you understand money before you have to leave home

Why not?

If you have to pay for everything youerself you soon understand what is a necessity etc. That's why I am still chugging away on my old 333mhz Laptop - I pay for a decent ADSL line for browser speed. I will be building a new "Kickass" rig this month but I had too many other commitments to justify it it. I bought a sword from Japan to practise with which is more important + I paid for my Mum to have a holiday to cheer her up (worth much more to see the look on her face than having the fastest P4/RAM combo).

C'mon - no-one is going to do it for you. I have had periods without work and got down. I used to have to work like mad over the summer when I was at Uni to survive - one summer I was on the way to my first day of work as a labourer (good work, keeps you fit and pays well if you are a student) when I got knocked off my bike and fractured my elbow - I spent the whole summer nocturnal and grew a beard whilst wathcing the Atlanta Olympics:D felt sorry for myself but what can you do?

Put on some smart clothes, have a shave and go to a place you would like to.work. Ask them politely if they have any positions. It can be soul destroying but you will get there in the end.

I started on a Fruit and Veg stall, then two supermarkets on the checkout, Bar work, Catering then IT. Nothing is beneath you if you want some wedge - my family was poor so I wasn't going to get given the things I wanted. Back when I started work I was doing a lot of Climbing and the equipment for that is Mondo Expensive!

And weymouth is sooo sucky... there is not many actual places to work in here.... And with no car or whatever, I can't ponse off to other places coz I wouldn't be able to do that every day or whatever.

Plus I have college Monday - thursday full time. And we have far too much work... I am struggling with keeping up with that badly as it is.

I really don't know... no time, no money, no job. Its all bad. :Nope

Excuses!

I got a job in Caernarfon which is about 10 times smaller than Weymouth. I was doing my A Levels at school which was 5 days - I used to work thursday and friday nights after school and all day Saturday.

How old are you? If you are over 18 get a Bar job - great fun and you get to meet loads of cool people

If you think College is hard, wait until you go to Uni or get a full-time job:D

You like us don't you? If I could do the same hours as what I do now for the same money I would work in a bar - more fun. (I am too drained to use my PC much at home nowadays - probably the reason Eferz doesn't post much anymore).

Its silly, but I find it easier to talk to someone on msn or whatever than in real life. I mean... I just find people hard to deal with... hard to meet new poeple and that.

Probably why I'm single

And I am really struggling with the college workload too.... :( I don't know... is it just me?

I am not even going to bother with uni... I just can't be dealing with it. I hope to get a job, but knowing my luck and that I'll probably be living in a bus shelter with a dog on a piece of string.

And I don't even like dogs.

*sigh*

I don't mean to sound harsh but you need to get out more- if you can't talk to people then you won't get a good job and will get stuck in a rut.

I am shy (although my G/F wouldn't agree!) but ia have a way with people - you have to project a bit of confidence and you are halfway there. Remember, most other people have the same problem.

I cannot re-iterate enough that you need to get life skills and the only way to do it effectively is to get a job. I hated every job I had when I first started - it is stressful and hard but the rewards are what makes it worthwhile

Bascially everyone I went to school with hated me. I hated school and was glad to see the back of the place.

Problem is, I'm stuck in a town full of people I don't get on with and have absolutely no wish to ever see again.

Pretty much everyone I count as a friend (in real life, not online) lives in a different town and only see during college. And trust me, that list of friends is short.

And as I said, I really can't meet people, unless I'm chucked into a situation where I have no choice. Like college.

I mean.. I've tried to help myself and do whatever and stuff but it didn't work. I dunno... should I just give up or what? I really don't know where to turn, and so I am basically sitting here blabbing to you guys coz I don't know what to do anymore. :Crying

It's cool - we're here to help! You'd be hard pressed to find a more widely experienced lot. I'm sure when the others read this it will escalate more.

I used to have laods of friends in the UK - but I moved around a lot and some peopl are not too good at staying in touch. Moving here I probably have a handful of good friends. It takes even more time at my age (I'm so old!) as people really seem to be set into a pattern with their friends. It takes time that's all + a bit of bravery to initiate it.

I am actually really bad at things when everything is going well - I react better when the Sh*t hits the fan and I have to get moving. At the moment life is good so I am bored - you can't win!
