He's just acceeding to the fear that the Spanish success had bred across Europe. It's a waffle. He's trying to divert an attack on Poland, while still honoring his obligations. My guess is that he's up for re-election, too. Don't be surprised to hear the same rhetoric out of the UK too. They're scared and scared people do unusual things.

Not really - Blair has just commited 750 more troops (Which is a lot as the UK has the largest overseas commitments as a ratio to the size of its Army).

Looking back at my post, it doesn't quite read right. I meant the last sentence to cover the world as a whole. I expect to hear words from the UK, but I doubt their actions will falter, unless... the opposition succeeds in removing Blair from office. In this case, he's doing what is morally right, even if it might not be politically so.

All of this is garbage. Please explain why Bill Clinton, the Dem leadership, Bush, the Repub leadership, and the British thought there were WMDs? Was there bad intelligence - absolutely.
