There's some good and some bad...

The first sample is Jupiter in the constellation Leo. 15 sec. @ f2.0. Good amount of stars, but wow, look at the CA on the planet... :Nope

I'll try again @ f5.6 maybe.

The Big Dipper, a.k.a. Ursa Major.

Nice Try!

I would believe that even nicer lens for SLRs would have CA in the same pictures... maybe not to that extent, but still existant...

I tried a shot of the Moon and Jupiter last week and the flare from the Moon completely masked Jupiter. I suspect that the lens isn't as well designed as the reviews let on. It seems to be lacking some multicoating. It could be the aperture setting, but I'm not so sure.

To answer your question though, none of my Olympus, Pentax, or Sigma lenses do this. Only one Asanuma does, to a slight extent. I don't use it for astrophotography anymore. But it isn't as bad as what that one picture showed... :Nope

Tried another pic of the Moon tonight, but this time with the Nikon. Got skunked again, but due to overexposure this time. Did take a quick pic of Orion that turned out fairly well. Not perfect, but better than I expected. Hope you like it.
