I had a short burst of insperation by some of your posts so I ran out and found absolutely nothing to take pics of. LOL I will try again when I walk Ginger tomorrow and see if I can't find some good subjects that I can shoot w/o a tripod.
This is taken w/ the Nikon CoolPix 5700 (which I am contemplating on selling).

I've been taking pictures of one of those for the past two weeks with no good result. If it's all in focus, the color's off; if the color's right the tip is out of focus...
Great shot of a very difficult (for me) subject! :thumb

Thanks...It would be nicer with a tripod. I'm wanting that D70 so bad I can almost taste it. That is the reason I'm contemplating selling the Coolpix, placing the money in corner, saving till I've got enough, then rushing it to my house.
Although, I do like the 5700...she seems to take some nice pics.

That flower above is not a hyacinth I don't think (no offense). A hyacinth has many small fragrant flowers on a single stem with the petals being fully joined in a cup or Sympetalous in various colours (deep pink/maroon, purple, white) with no protruding pistils. They only get about an inch across. Unless that is some weird form of hyacinth I have never seen, which is possible? I get a lot of them in my yard during the month of February. Here on Vancouver Island, there are all types of flowers that bloom year round. Buchart Gardens is just insane.
Nice pic BTW man. :KICK ASS

A round one. :p
Facts are, the Nikon D70 is a better camera than the Canon 300D. Canon got out there first, Nikon waited, learned, then improved greatly.
Canon will probably release another version that is more comparable but until that happens, sorry Canon.

I saw. If it's for me, I'll send you my mailing address...
Hey Arty, just a suggestion, but the 5700 is a good camera, so why don't you buy the D70 for serious photography and keep the 5700 for a backup camera?

Everytime I see a Canon VS Nikon battle I just have to thrown in Canon Lenses.....truly they cant be beat....i mean "L" come on. Oh and he might need the money selling the 5700 to get the D70.
