RipFlash Recordable MP3 Player CONTEST (http://www.3dgameman.com/vr/innogear/ripflash/contest.htm). Win a RipFlash! Good Luck :)
-------------------------
RipFlash Recordable MP3 Player:
RipFlash Recordable MP3 Player is a first-of-its-kind flash memory based combination MP3 player and MP3 Recorder and voice recording device which actually encodes analog audio using its internal microphone or from any audio source through the Line In connector, into high quality MP3 audio without the need for a desktop PC.
RipFlash Recordable MP3 technology allows the user to record directly from any audio device such as a portable CD Player, Radio, Record Player or Tape Player. Users may even record quick voice messages using the internal microphone, or use a high quality stereo microphone connected to the Line In for recording anything from live music to training seminars. The recordings can be played back through the on board internal speaker, or through the included ear bud headphones, or through any home or car audio system using the appropriate cables.
RipFlash also has a unique feature that can detect the "gap" in between the tracks of a CD when recording so that each song on the CD is saved as an individual MP3 file.
RipFlash can be used for fun for any music lover of any age, or for musicians who wish to record their live music sessions, or for the business person or student who has the need for recording and playback of training tapes, seminars, lectures, etc…
RipFlash comes with 128MB of internal storage and also has a Smart Media Card slot for adding additional memory. You can upload and download MP3 files using a desktop PC and USB.

Only active forum members should be allowed to enter for the contest. I don't like it when some website just links to ur site and have people go and enter when they do absolutely nothing with helping or putting comments on the forum about products.. just my opinion.. not saying u should do it.. just i think its fair and just..

Your review of the RipFlash was helpful, but you left out some important information.:( What is the *quality* of the audio on the RipFlash? I am interested in recording live audio with it, but I want to how the results will turn out. For instance, the Archos Jukebox Recorder records in MP3, but when you look at the beginning of the files produced, you see that the codec used is Xing, and Xing=bad because artifacts are introduced, and there is nothing that buying a better mic will do to fix the problem. So could you please tell me how true-to-life the resulting recording is, voice/music, internal/external mic -- (or for my purposes, just the voice recording from internal mic). Haven taken into account the bitrate, does it seem garbled or muddy? Crystal clear?:D Another thing that is important as far as recording goes is whether you can adjust the mic's sensitivity. Does the RipFlash let you do that? I tried to record a concert once with my MiniDisc recorder, but the recording was ruined because of clipping, I had the sensitivity set just a bit too high. I would appreciate it if you could tell me how complex it is to set up a (voice-)recording. This is important for those who want to dictate memos to themselves, it is not very practical if you have to go through a key-sequence like you would if you worked at NORAD everytime you want to capture your thoughts. When you make several recordings, how are they distinguished (the reason I ask is that on the Archos Jukebox Recorder, unless you change the name of the file it OVERWRITES what you just recorded - which has resulted in Oscar-caliber  cursing  from me). Finally, let's say you add a 128mb external smartmedia card, does it show up together with the internal memory, or do you have to toggle between the one and the other. From your presentation of the software, the latter unfortunately seems to be the case.
Thanks for the great review but could you PLEASE answer some of my questions. I want to buy this, but I need to know it will be better than, say, the Olympus DM-1 voice recorder.

I know you couldn't cover everything in the video-review. I liked your review as it was. I just thought that, since you've been playing around with it, you might know the answers to at least a few of my questions. I've already been to the RipFlash site, and I am only asking you because the questions I have were not answered on their page, or product manual. Also I thought some other of your viewers (?) might have similar questions about the product. So, again, if you know the answers just off the top of your head, I would appreciate it if you could post them in a brief reply. I don't want to waste your time, but I am interested in this product, and I would like to know about what I asked.

Internal mic is somewhat clear (not crystal) however, a pricy HiQ external mic would be better.
Bit rates on Internal and External both can be adjusted from all the way up to 192. Even at 32 recorded Voice seems fine to me :)
External mem. will show as external mem., you transfer the audio to either the internal or the external.
