View Full Version : Canada Day Fireworks (56k users, beware)
Well guys, here is my first attempt at photographing fireworks. I used my Digital Rebel with a EF 28-105mm II USM Lens with a bulb shutter speed ranging from 2-5 seconds, ISO 100, F9 and at 28mm.(using a tripod, of course) Here is the results :) .

Awesome! Great captures! I really like the one of the smoke cloud with the reflection of the red bursts below it.

those are some pretty sweet pictures, especialy the last one with the smoke and the redyeah, overall I took sixty-seven photos that night and ended up keeping thirty of them that looked pretty awesome. It was my first time shooting fireworks and I think that I lucked out, and I also had some tips on shooting fireworks in a couple of photography forums, so without luck and the tips, they would not have looked like that.

:Holy Crap Those fireworks are a little close to each other, arent they?
And it looks like some of the works were defective... what's with the exploding ones? lol... At least the young ones sounded like they had a good time, I guess that's all that matters.
As for the pictures, great shots! :luxhello

A photo taken by my wife with my Olympus C-3000Z below. The little girl holding the sparkler is my niece, Kaylee Jo, who is in town with my sister-in-law to see her (Kaylee's) uncle, who in turn is in town from Iraq on leave.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see anything this year, and missed the family gathering, due to work conflicts.
looks like we have a one meg attach limit...good enough for a small vid clip...I tried to open it up and it would not play properly :What the . Must have gotten a corrupted file :What the

one of em was defective out of the 20 or so we set off that night, but your only seeing a few seconds of low framerate digital cam vid...everything turned out fine in person. as for the exploding ones, a few of em were shells...pretty cool actually...
