Amazing shots!! Well done! :thumb :thumb

I got to know my D70 better by turning off auto-everything. You should try the same thing!

Shoot RAW, use full manual... Whee!

Shoot RAW, use full manual... Whee!Shooting in RAW though, has a lot of disadvantages as well. First off, you need at least a 512mb memory card just to get a little over 50 pictures. Second, RAW is great if you only have a couple of pictures to convert, but if you have over one hundred pictures, you may as well write off a whole morning just to convert them and that is if you are quick. What I do is simple, if I have a few pictures to shoot, I will shoot in RAW, however, if I have a lot of pictures to shoot, I will use the highest jpeg setting.
**If you are shooting in RAW, use Adobe Photoshop CS to convert them. It is much better than the Canon program.

I know what you mean, but the photos I'm going to shoot (Underwater) has a high chance of being sold/published... therefore, I need as high quality images as I can so that they can be interpolated!

I have Adobe Camera RAW and Photoshop CS, but I am considering purchasing Phase One's C1 SE... not sure which!

(If anyone can tell me or link me to an article comparing them, or individually in detail, please help me out by telling me of it! Thanks!)

RAW is out of the question for me at this moment. I only have a 64MB card... I am shooting at 1600x.. at FINE image setting so i can get much more pictures. I am looking into buying 2 x 256mb CF cards which come 30 bucks cheaper than one 512MB...

What cards are recommended??

Thanks for all replies

Thanks for all repliesYou want to get a high speed compact flash card such as the Lexar Compact Flash Pro 40x or the Sandisk Compact Flash Ultra II. With the regular CF cards, it might take you up to three seconds just to process one high resolution picture and that is not even RAW mode. With these high speed cards it will take you aproximately 1/2 a second to process a high resolution jpeg. Also, stay away from CF Microdrives. They are cheaper with up to 4gb of storage, but a lot of people are having problems down the road with them.

They'll work just fine.

Honestly, I think the $30 would be well spent on getting a 512 card.

Some situations, you'd want as much as you can afford on a card... knowing that you have double the capacity at hand on one card is worth the $30 in my opinion...

And yes, the Ultra II is a good choice. I use a 512MB UltraII for my D70.

The bigger that card you can run, the less stuff to distract you from taking pictures. Bigger is better.
