View Full Version : Redundant again!
Howdy all,
After a long absence, I have sort of returned :)
I got made redundant, again.
Long story short, bad management, company lost millions, and so they closed the computer shop.
Ah well, at least I got a P4 system out of it as my Redundancy package :D
I got a P4 2.8GHz 533Mhz, Gigabyte 648 board, and 2 sticks of DDR400 256MB memory.
Which ain't that bad for a grand total of £0.00
So, at least now I can play Farcry, painkiller and UT2k4 at a decent resolution and speed. :D :D :D :D
I'm so happy, and at the same time gutted about losing my job.
But, no more getting up at 5:30 every morning, driving 60 miles to Leeds, and then getting home for about 7pm.
I can now offically CHILL, and enjoy the benefits of having a P4 instead of a P3 :D

Sorry to hear about that, MGE! I know you went through a long dry spell before. Hopefully, you'll find something else fairly quickly this time. :thumb
Anyway, welcome back! :Beer

Ooo hehe someone else looking for a job, eh?
Hey MGE... :happywave :)
At least you got a pretty nice system for it... gotta be good, eh?
Aye, I am back on benifits again :)
Back to drudging thru the local job adverts again.
Ah well, at least I get to goto bed and sleep for as long as I want! :D
(Current record: 19 hours, solid) :D
And the system is keeping me happy so far, I can actually play big games :D
Rather than watching a slide show of the game :)

19 hours... :jawsdown :jawsdown :jawsdown
The longest I've done is about 11-12 hours... I hate sleeping for too long. :)
Well best of luck looking for jobs, I'm in that boat at the moment. But I'm lucky, I'm still mainly living off my parents. Altho I do want to be a bit more independant and that (plus have more money lol).
And wazlady.... back at school? What you doing? :) Good luck with it.
Yepper...back to school! :bounce
I am going to college for Judical Reporting and eventually want to do Close Captioning for television shows. There is going to be a huge need for that here in the US since by 2006 all television shows have to be close captioned. I am planning on finishing in the year 2007. Alot depends on how fast my speed is. You have to work up to 225 words per minute. You only use 22 letters of the alphabet...
I am taking one class right now and will go full time in the fall term. I really like the school I am going to. It is Midstate College in Peoria IL. It is a small business college. They offer my course, accounting, computers, paralegal, medical assistant, business courses. It has a small student body and the school really does care about you. They offer cookouts for the students, a Halloween party and the list goes on.
So I am excited about it...

Sounds like a big day camp or something... If my college would have been that much fun, I never would have dropped out.
Course, it doesn't help that I'm stupid too.

I've slept for 19 hours before. I came home, went to sleep, woke up the next day ready to start all over. At least i'm not tired as usual.
