Pharmacy Favourite Brownies :D.

These are the bestest, bestest, bestest brownies I've ever tasted. They should...look at all the chocolate in them. YUM :p!

6 squares semi-sweet chocolate
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
¾ cup margarine or butter
1 ½ cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 large eggs
1 tsp salt*
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup chocolate chips

Melt chocolate squares with butter in a double boiler. Cool to lukewarm. Add and mix sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in salt* and flour until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into 9 x 13 inch glass pan which has been buttered and floured.** Smooth the top with a fork.. Bake at 350°F for 20 to 30 minutes*** or until dry on top. Cut when cooled.

* I don’t include the salt
** I just spray the pan with Pam®
*** I have a hot oven and it usually takes at least 25 minutes.

We had a going-away party for one of the pharmacists at my work, and these were not sitting on the table very long.

These brownies should come with a:

*Warning - Extremely Addictive" label :jawsdown!

Wazlady, we need him around. If you're gonna kill him, make it less torturous then chocolate. :) j/k

Looks good! My mom saw this recipie for brownies on The Barefoot Contessa. She still needs to cook them to see how they are. Must...have...brownies! :D

You forgot:

1 cup chopped walnuts

mixed in with the choclate chips.

What you have is very good, but I like walnuts in mine! :happywave

I can never make one batch either, I usually make two to make the brownies extra thick! :hail

Cut them in half horizontally and put a slice of ice cream in between. Then drizzle warm chocolate sauce over the whole thing. Maybe add a dollop of whipped cream on top. Mmmmmmm... :thumb

Ok.

I've tasted other people's attempt at the brownie recipe that I left in the first post, but now I went ahead and baked these brownies for myself for the first time last night.

Can a brownie be stunning? You bet :hail :food :thumb :hail!

You absolutely have to try this recipe.

Follow the directions on the box except, decrease the baking time suggested by 3 minutes. This makes the brownies much fudgier.

After removing the brownies from the oven, cool them on a rack for 5 minutes, and then put them in the freezer. Yes, the freezer!

After about 30 minutes, remove them from the freezer and frost them with canned chocolate frosting. Make decorative zigzags with the tines of a fork and add some sprinkles. Then put them back in the freezer.

30 minutes later, remove them from the freezer and cut them into bars. If you are not serving them right away keep them frozen, they will not freeze solid, but will stay fudgy. ;)
