Tan?
Depends on how many applications I can get out of the self-tanning bottle :).
I shun the sun with an SPF of 15 or higher. My skin's too fair - I'll burn first if not careful :(.

It's hard for the Irish to get a tan. We tend to just get redder. :o Let it burn. :devil

I'm not tan at all.... :Nope
I do have a little tan on my arms...shown with the white area where my watch usually is.
But that is the extent of it this year. I burn then tan..but really haven't had a chance this year to bake in the sun.
I do not go to tanning beds...which was a popular hang out for some ladies at lunch where I worked. And needless to say some already started to look like a leather handbag :Nope At the ripe old age of 38....

You should see the younger firls here (18-25) they have ignored the previously successful "Slip, slap, slop" ad campaign and are again becginning to be at risk from Melanoma.
My G/F spent 5 years in the UK out of the sun and is regularly told she is only 26 (She is 35). The younger girls look in their 30's already.:jawsdown
The sun here is crazy - I burn in about 5 mins in the summer. :shocking

See the Victorian's had it right a hundred years ago by staying out of the sun. They used umbrella's and hats to keep the sun off them. They had a forsight even then..
I agree...I don't tan much..though I did when I was younger and stupid. I fried myself with Baby Oil and laid out all summer. Not anymore.
I probably did some damage...but as long as I keep the SPF higher than 15 on me I will be ok...I hope:)
I use 35 on my face and 25 anywhere else.
When I went back to the UK my mates were 'Wheres your Tan?" I said I wanted to live in Oz so that means less Sun bathing than your average backpacker!
I was at the Archery range last year and forgot to put sunscreen on my arms. After 5 mins I had a strap mark from my armguard. Also when I went to the beach my feet got burnt - I have two bald patches at the top of my ankle - the hair hasn't grown back
:shocking :shocking

Ouch! I have had my feet burnt before! :bomb And that hurts!!!!
I was at a beach in Florida and my tops got burnt the first year we went down there. The sun rays in Flordia are harsher than the ones here in Illinois. Plus with all the white sand. The rays just reflect off of it. Also I would get burned on my scalp too. I have thick thick hair and I would go in the ocean and then comb my hair while it was wet there on the beach. I had a part down the center and that little ghost white exposed skin got burnt on the top of my head! I felt it when I would wash my hair after a day on the beach. So after that I brought a nice straw hat to put on.
And it sounds like the sun rays in Oz are even harsher Maro. I will remember that if I ever make it down there!

Ditto. Irish man here. I burn. Last time I got even the most remote 'color' was at my going away party in June. 'Tis gone now. Me white.
I'll usually burn on the neck or shoulders. No where else. Arm's get red (For the Irish, red=tan). Face gets red. Legs tan. Back gets red. Basically, I'm either white or red. Wow, nice color tones. :Yea right

I stay out of the sun, dont wanna hurt my skin. Plus, I really dont like the look of tans anyway. I have a pretty nice, light skin tone.

Amen to that!
I've got a hideous "farmer's tan" going from working outdoors the last couple of months. But it's a good thing. My torso is so badly scarred anymore, I don't want it to get tanned.

I'm half Greek and half Indian (real Indian) but I look Greek and don't look Indian at all. I tan fairly easily but I'm not that dark, mainly an olive color. Perfect for me when I probably end up living in Italy :sun_smile
Well so far in the last four weeks, I counted only six days with nice sunshine, the rest were either cloudy or raining, so a tan around here is difficult.
I work outside all day, usually.
And the only sun I have got is from a few days of sunshine, we the danish people have been blessed with this year.
You can see where my ever so attached watch has been. I havent worn the watch 2 times this year, so...

Yeah the weather's been pretty cr4ppy around here too for most of the summer so far. I hope it lets up so I'll actually have some incentive to go outside.

I am not really tanned anymore. I was when I went to the beach everyday, but it seems that I just don't get time to go anymore. I won't torture you guys with my pail body, lol. Well, not pail, just not anymore tanned. :Crying

I am English and also a computer enthusiast so the lack of sunshine and enthusiasm to go outside results in what you could call "A Pale But Interesting Complexion" :)

Well if I had a camera I'd take a few pics for all of you, show off my farmer tan eventhough I'm not a farmer. I tan pretty nice though, probably all the european blood in me. I've got Scottish, English, German and a few other bloodlines in me.... and it's all good :thumb
