Just gonna state my opinion and move on:
When are you going to have another giveaway that's open to everyone? To the people that come here and post away and watch the VRs, but either can't make the get togethers or don't have the money to contribute? I mean, after all, the CM's already get a bunch of perks the rest of us don't.
That's all I'm going to say, and I'm not going to be drawn into a big drawn-out fight about it. I fully realize it's our choice to become CMs or not, just as it's our choice to attend the get togethers or not.
Please don't take this as a huge negative thing, as I'm not looking to start anything. I just wanted to say that and now I'm on to other things. :surrender

Wazman, he does plan to do a giveaway soon for non CMs, this was something discussed in the CM forum on giveaways, this is just the first CM giveaway.
Waz your a valuble member of 3dgm and we wouldnt want otherwise, I have learned a lot from you so please dont look at this as any form of disrespect to people who cant become CM becuase it isnt that way at all.

Like I said, I'm not going to keep discussing it. I said my opinion and I'm not upset or anything.
But how would I know what goes on in the CM forum if I'm not a CM? :)
Rodney, please don't ban me.
If anybody wants to discuss this further, please PM me. Good luck to the winner! :)

Except you are forgetting that I've already had 15 giveaways for non-Contributing 3GM Members and not one for Contributing Members :beer
I giveaway a ton of stuff at the 3GM Get Togethers. Then there’s the free case badges for posts, etc...
So complain all you want ;)

Well, that was rather rude.
You forget that I haven't been around for all 15 giveaways. And I wasn't complaining. I was stating my opinion. Let me see if I can go back and edit my post so it's not even there.
Or maybe I'll become a CM just so I can delete it.

Wazman,
I'm not going to continue this discussion with you or anything one else because no matter what I say or do some people will not be happy. So be it.
Anyone who wants to come into this thread and rant on about how Contributing Members have a giveaway while regular members have had lots best do it somewhere else!

Sure, however, the helping support link and the color of your username can’t be changed. You can also support and remain anonymous like some if you like.

Why do a lot of thinks around here always turn into something that make the reader gets annoyed by. Honestly, that's why it's not much fun to read the forums much since a while because instead of just having fun you are continually scared about which brain damaging argument you will find.
I will not continue any discussion either and maybe I shouldnt've brought this up but I just feel like it needed to go :/
Anyways tough, thanks for the giveaway (eventough I am gonna need to wait a couple of years to fit this T-Shirt, or I'll just give it to my dad :D)
P.S.

I will have giveaways in the future, like the 15 others that I have had for regular forum members. I will have one soon :Thumb I mentioned that I would after the Get Together 02 and I plan on it.

He is trying to be noble and make the rest of the CMs look bad, hehe
no really maybe he just doesnt want to be in the contest and thats his choice and we should respect that.
Although I do think that he is a person who has been on forums a lot despite his count and is very helpful so I think he would have the right to be in the contest but again it was his choice. :Beer

I just chose not to be entered in it. My SWG fix has been keeping me in the game for long periods. I have almost lost my interest in computer hardware, for now (this always seems to happen on and off.) I'm not trying to be noble, it was just a choice. I want a CM who is here often and helps out deserves it more than I do, I just feel that way.
I will try to be more active, but I'll have to do A LOT of reading to keep up with the new hardware I've almost turned my back on over summer.
Anyone have any interesting links?

...I think you took me totally wrong here. I have no problem with people that are lurkers going to the get together and people that talk away here can't make it. I was never one of those to complain and ask those stupid questions since everyone is always invited. I was not being sarcastic I meant what nick does Colin go by or is that the nick he is on this forum? I will have to go look and see if I can find him. So I hope this clears some things up cause by no means did I mean that sarcastically or rudely.

I was kinda goofing around a bit when we did the drawing, lol.
Putting the bowl on my head was a spur of the moment thing. It was so hard to keep it from tilting around too much at the beginning of the video...was trying to make it look like it was resting on the table in behind, but I was laughing so hard it just wobbled everywhere on top of my head :lmao :sweat.
The videos will make it all the more fun, and since the next giveaway is during Hallowe'en, it will be fun to find a sweet costume to wear. Maybe not as scary as last years :devil.

I am! <g>
Yes, I have been around here for a few years, and visit the site (front page and tech news) pretty much every day.
Forums, not so much, mostly because of a lack of time to go through everything and make a relevant contribution. However, I post from time to time, mostly in hardware and personal reviews.
As an example of the lack of time, I left work Sunday night/Monday morning at 1:30 am, and was back at work at 5:30 am with about 2 1/2 hours of sleep. Not a typical day, but not unheard of. Finished work today at 5:00 pm, and I will be back tomorrow at 5:30, about 7 1/2 hours from now.
What I am saying is that it is a big world out there, so don't get mad when people don't have time to be more active. As for t00lb0x's comment about having the prize go to a more active member, well, with 5,000+ posts, that was just funny! :lmao
Good luck to everybody on the next draw.

Only think that upsets me is how you all took it. I honestly didn't mean it the way you guys took it. I really meant who is Colin thinking that he put peoples first names on the paper's instead of their message board name. I didn't know you use your first name(at least I am guessing it is) as your message board name. So by no means did I mean it that way and I think you should be just as elgible as the other's who contibuted. It is about donating not posting. So hopefully you understand me a little better and again :thumb

Rodney (or Sherry) wrote the names down, not me.
And Rodney has been very consistent about using just people's nicks on the boards, not their real names. If you see a name on here, with the exception of Rodney and Sherry, it is pretty much guaranteed to be their username, not their real name.

No need to get upset -- all I was doing was telling you the way that I see Rod handling names -- he uses the nicknames, not real names.
Develop a thick skin if you are going to use the 'net -- and give everyone the benefit of the doubt that they are trying to be helpful, not mean.

Re-reading your message -- now I understand what you meant:
---
I really meant, "Who is Colin?" thinking that he (Rodney) put people's first names on the papers....
---
Same thing happened at the first get-together. When Rodney and Sherry arrived, I went up and introduced myself as "Colin". Rodney looked puzzled and asked for my username.
Anyway, no harm done.
