This Sunday (Sep. 19) marks the beginning of National Singles Week in the U.S., but fewer singles than before are happy to be flying solo.
The results of a Yahoo! Singles poll indicate that only 38 percent of females and 31 percent of males are happy to be single this year.
That's down from last year when 51 percent of women and 48 percent of men were happy to be alone.
Nearly 80 percent of singles admit they are "single but seriously look."
When it comes to looking for a date, 42 percent of singles agree the most attractive quality in a date is a sense of humor, while the second most attractive quality to 25 percent of men is intelligence and 27 percent of women are attracted to good manners and chivalry.
For those who are looking, the majority agree that the best place to meet someone is in Cancun, Mexico, but these days the sexiest drink isn't a martini, it's a glass of wine.
