Here's a pic of Otto, a teddy bear I have been working on. Bear-making is a hobby of mine.

More pics are in the buy/sell section (http://www.3dgameman.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23413), but I put it here just in case you miss it ;).

It's not too hard to learn how. I taught myself a few years ago with a free pattern that I found somewhere out there on the internet :). For a couple of years after that, I used to attend a Teddy Bear Club, but there really wasn't enough "sit and stitch" during the meetings...it was more like "gab and gossip", lol, so my attendance became less and less. I have a few books with excellent instructions as well that I ordered in.

There are a lot of patterns out there, from beginners to advanced. Something for every skill level.

The only thing that can be daunting at first is all the supplies you need, but even stuff like that can be improvised. It also helps when your husband has a chock-load of tools to borrow. I was constantly using his needle nose pliers...and convieniently stashing them in my sewing box, lol :devil...needless to say I found a pair of my own in my Xmas stocking last year :thumb :hyper :sweat!

Some of the other tools I use are the nut, bolt and ratchet set...oh yeah, and the screwdrivers, lmao! Traditional teddy bears have hardboard disk sets inside for moveable appendages...some have cotter pins, and some use lock nuts, screws and washers. It all depends on how you want to go about assembling the bear.

But the bear above has plastic children's safety joints. They self-lock and the parts are large and durable, so if the child somehow manages to rip the bear apart, there are no small parts that can be swallowed!

Wow, it looks more of a real bear than a teddy bear.
