I was at a seminar the other week or so and the professor giving the talk specializes in fluid dynamics. He has been studying the motion of the atmosphere on Jupiter and while I didn't really get the whole lecture with cyclones and anti-cyclones, he basically discovered that most likely if the earth is going to have a big global climate change, it will happen very quickly not over a long period of time.

He was basically saying that if the global warming continues it will most likely reach a point that a sudden climate change would happen very qucikly not over say 10 years but within months and the climate would be totoally different.

He said he's not pointing fingers and that there are trends that global warming happens every so many thousands of years, but there is still warming. He said most likely the earth is naturally increasing the temp but we are also assisting. He said his personal philosophy is we know that we aren't helping the global warming and we might not affect the environment, but why risk it if we don't have to.
