If that's what you want to do, go for it. You only live once, and if that's gonna make you happy then do it. :)

I've been out with girls from all over the world. Most of them didn't have English as their first Language.

It's what you feel for each other that counts

Don't worry about anyone but yourself. In love, that's the only opinion that matters. (Well...the other person's, but that was a given I suppose.)

One of my oldest friends is a black guy who's married to a white woman. They have a wonderful, loving relationship and just had a beautiful baby boy. What more could anybody want?

I think that this is a wonderful thing. My favorite person to be with happens to be an african-american, the woman I hope to marry one day is phillipian-japanese, it doesn't matter, we are all humans. God wants us to all live together as one race, not cliques of colors.

I am a white male from north america with some lineage going back to England and Germany, but in general, I am a mutt (heavily mixed).

My wife was born in Trinidad & Tobago to a family that emigrated there from India in the early 1900s. Her family is of the Brahmin caste going a long way back to India. To her family I was the 'outsider' and early on was seriously frowned upon. Often children of these families are subject to arranged marriages. In India, mixed marriages were almost taboo and children produced by these marriages were often treated as outcasts and second class citizens. I'm sure that has changed over the past 100 years or so, but I am sure some of that sentiment still exists.

When we married (we eloped), we did not have her mother's approval (I think she wanted to put a contract out on me), but her father had no problem with me and went along with his daughter's wishes. It didn't matter one way or the other to us since we were deeply in love with and committed to each other.

Now 28 years later, her father has passed away along time ago, and her mother is often over visiting for weekends or longer stays. She has made her peace with me a long time ago and accepted the fact that I will not be going away any time soon. Both my wife and I have been very happy together and could not imagine our lives without each other.

Thank you for pointing this out. It's funny how some might consider it racist or off-color to express one's lack of interest in dating someone of another color, expecially when the person expressing themself is white. But it is perfectly okay for someone who is black to say they'd never date another black person. I don't think you are a bad person for assuming I am racist, I'm just letting you know that I'm not. I have many friends who are black as well as other colors. The fact is that I simply am not attracted to most black women, kind of like how some people aren't attracted to tall women, or blondes/brunettes.

Also, before anyone else assumes that I am an ignorant redneck, I would just like to say for the record, I acknowledge and embrace the gifts and talents of people from all races. Each has their own good qualities. Mexicans are a very hard working and industrious people. Asians are good at math and are typically very smart. Native Americans are good at building fires and finger painting. Middle-Easterners are good at running mini-marts and driving taxi's. The blacks are good at rhyming and pointing out how silly white people are. And white people are just overall good at everything. If we all came together as a group of one and used our talents collectively, who knows what we could accomplish!

Wait wait wait. Let me get this straight.

A) You are black
B) You CAN NOT rap
C) You don't point out how silly white people are

Are you like, 100% African American? I'm just confused now.

not all black people can rap..

I mean, black people at my HS are not all thugs.

It goes the same for white folks.. Not all of us are racist/rednecks.

Where in WA? Anywhere near Vancouver, WA? If you don't already know Vancouver is down by Portland, OR. It's where I'm from. Also, as far as women in WA go, all of them seem to be... uhhh, how do I put this nicely? Dumb. A cruel and probably false generalization, I know. But for some reason women around here seem to be REALLY messed up. Whether they are white, asian, black, mexican, whatever.

But like everyone else said, color don't matter. A black friend of mine, who has known me since I was a lil guy, is married to a very nice white woman. They are doing just fine.

Raven,

Go where your heart leads you! If you love her and she loves you....then best of luck to both of you:)

Society has come a long way in the past 30 years. 50 years ago a white women getting involved with a black male would have been taboo and not even thought of.

I often think of the movie, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner". When that came out in the 1960's that movie raised many many eyebrows, some folks were angry, some cheered. My folks remember the controversey when it was released. BUT it did break down that barrier or at least started it. Also in that time Martin Luther King was giving his wonderful speeches..

Go for it Raven.....and keep us posted:)
