I figured that more people would see if I put this thread here instead of in the Photography section. :)
So I went to Malaysia last week, took the bus up. This is a pretty nice bus actually, the seats are quite large and they recline and there are electric legrests and stuff and so on...
Anyway, I thought some of you people might like to see.
I had to decrease the quality cause' I didnt want to ruin Rod's bandwith...

This is from Penang. We went to the market-ish area which was in the very much tourist area of Batu Ferringhi, and had a look around. There were HEAPS of pirated movies as you can see here!

Heaps of cheap watches too. I call these the 'clappers'.
I have had experiences of the face falling out of the watch during clapping, and hence the nickname.

Somehow every time we've gone to Penang, and every time we've wanted dinner, we have ended up at this place.

This is the bridge between the mainland of Malaysia and Penang island. It is HUGE! Takes like 10 minutes or more to get across.

We went up to Cameron Highlands for part of a day. The altitude might have been around or above 5,000 feet.
On our way back down there was a little cloud to drive through.

Up in Cameron Highlands, it was much cooler than down below. I loved it! It was a little like NZ.
For some reason there is this huge strawberry craze up there! There are numerous strawberry farms, some of which you can pick your pwn in, and there was also strayberry jams and strawbery tea.
We bought some and they were good. :food

Here we are at the market in Ipoh.
My Uncle owns a shop there, this is across the road from where his house is. THese photos don't capture enough, you really have to be there to experience it. It's just so much different from western societies.
Who ever heard of Coke, Coffee or Tea in a plastic bag? Not ever in the US!

This is the letterbox in front of the house where my Dad grew up.
My grandmother is still there, she is 80.
My Uncle also lives there too, his shop is just across the road.

A few of the photos here were taken with a digital camera, but most of it was taken with film. ($115 - 8 rolls!)
So I hope you had a good look at the photos and learned a thing or two about what Malaysia looks like. This is only a very small part though, there is heaps of scenery in the place.

Nice pictures!
My gf is filipina and I want to visit her homeland one day.
I'm guessing Malaysia and the Philippines are quite similar...
