Oh man, that sux hard. :Crying I hope that if there is an afterlife that he is happier than he was during the latter part of his life. No more struggles.

That sucks. :Crying I've seen so many interviews with him. Especially those with Barbara Walters. He was a good man. Would have been cool if he actually got out of the paralysis, too.

Ahh...here's to Reeve. :Beer

This is so sad :Crying

Wazman told me this late last night. I was shocked. I just saw an article about him in Reader's Digest. He was so young.

He will forever be remembered as Superman, and the strong advocate for spinal cord injury patients. He turned something horriable into a crusade to help other people.

May he rest in peace.

I'm really sadened by this. I really liked him and I think he really got the short end of the stick when he broke his neck. Now he has to die like this. Like someone else already said, I really thought he would win someday. :(

What I'm about to say may offend some people, but unfortunately I have a unique perspective on Christopher Reeves. In 1993 I was in an accident that left me a quadriplegic just like Christopher Reeves. I too am paralyzed from the neck down, and need a ventilator to breathe. For 11 years now I have been welcoming death with open arms. The everyday pain I go through is unbearable most of the time and its been extremely difficult to watch my life stand still as I've seen my friends and family enjoy the perks of a "normal" life. If Mr. Reeves felt in any way the way I do, then in some small way he probably secretly hoped for death while putting on a good face for the public.

Ironically, my father died in 1997 from being a quadriplegic too. He felt death approaching and as the two quadriplegics in the same household(my father and I) would sit and talk, my dad always spoke of the pain being so bad that he couldn't wait to pass on. I know my father is in a better place now and so is Christopher Reeves. I've prayed for his family so that they can get through this tragedy as best as they can.

I just keep wondering, when do I get the privilege of not having to be a quad and in this f*cked up situation. I truly am waiting for death to come knocking on my door. :(

In any case, here's to you Christopher :bounce :bounce, may you rest in eternal peace.

Love,

Daniel Huggs :bounce :bounce

Here's to Reeves :Beer

I still remember the shoots around town and surrounding area, if I happen to catch a Superman movie on Space (like Sci Fi Channel)(they had a 'marathon' only this weekend :Holy Crap... weird ) I look for the familiar landmarks. I still think of Richard Pryor 'skiing' off the TD building (hmmm... at one time I was a security guard there)

We were all hopeful that he would somehow recover

Daniel,
You're right, you do have an interesting perspective on Chris' death

I bet there were days that Mr Reeves wishes he were dead as well, but for the time given him, he did alot to help the cause. He could have drawn himself away from the publicity, he didn't

In this day of stars, publicity and lending their name to whatever charity happens to be out there (for a Tax break) Reeve lived the life, he REPRESENTED himself as an advocate of research to hopefully make a better life for himself and others... this is how he became a Superman

This is sad news... He was always a great man and never acted as if the world owed him anything. He was a fighter until the end.

And dhuggs38, don't worry about stating how you feel. You've had an experience none of us have, and it's your right to feel about it as you want. I just hope there's something in your life that brings you some small joy or happiness or peace.

I'm at a loss for words, he was like a beacon of hope for many :Crying.

Heard about it whilst driving on my way into work this Thanksgiving holiday. It's moments like these when one realizes what one is truly thankful for.

second it is a little known fact that his medical insurance ran out quite a few years ago. Robin williams has been paying for all his medical bills for a long time now. rest well Mr. Reeves

I liked the memory message they did at the end of smallville

In Memory Of Christopher Reeves

"He was a man that truely tought us how to fly"

I still cant get over it, he looked like he was doing so well too, I thought he surely would have won this fight and be one of the first people to walk. I will never forget what he has done and will be remembered always.
