Today is 7 December, the 63rd Anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the surrounding area on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. As our president Franklin Delano Roosevelt said in his 8 December speech, "Dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy".

The attack killed approximately 2400 people. Below are several links to websites that go into detail about the attack.

Brandi and I were aboard the Arizona Memorial at Easter for a memorial service. It was truly a thought-provoking and moving experience. The Arizona is one of the Navy's most hallowed places. I had been aboard several times but to attend a memorial service aboard is something I will never forget.

Here is another picture from the Arizona Memorial that was taken on the evening of 6 December 2004.

Let us also not forget that on December 7, 1941, Japan attacked Guam, the Philippines, and all of the European colonies in Southeast Asia as well as Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i.
