well in the past 2 weeks i have been working quite hard to get this place up and going

i wrote of 2 days as none hours because well i didnt want to kill the guy

in a week, from last wed to this friday i had 73 hours of work, some with 10 hour, 13 hour and 15 hour days.

I configure the gaming servers, clients for all games, make sure everythign is running fine and dandy, clean up the shop, make sure everything is neat and tidy, help costumers etc etc.

For my position what would be a respectible penny to ask for? The guy i know doesnt have alot of money, i love my job it is truly amazing, minimum wage i wouldnt mind, it is a job i love. As the place grows im sure the coin will become better. i hope it does, as i am no longer going ot be able to pursue my technological field as i dont have my math i need.

So i think i will be going into buisness if i can, even then, i dont have my math.

My dad keeps saying he is proud of me, little does he know i feel so ashamed of my school. I have been helping out this place so much, i dont want to say it was all me me me. but i did setup configure 20 machines get them all going, get the gaming servers going, troubleshoo many problems organize a hell of alot.

What should i do in my position. I am going to be going tomorrow to talk about wages, i dont think i should go and work after talking about that. The guy is stressed for cash, but really, i didnt plan on working for free gaming hours.

He can get guys to work for free, if he feels that he no longer needs me and some other employees are needed for free, then so be it i hope he does good with his buisness, with, or without me. I would of loved to managed the place as a fulltime job, the coin just isnt there.

I am not sure what your relationship is with the person who owns this gaming/internet cafe. Are you officially employed by him? If not, then you did this as a favor and your 'boss' would be within his rights to not pay you at all.

The going rate for qualified technicians is anwhere from $35/hr to over $80/hr depending on experience and the negotiated contract terms. You did negotiate a contract didn't you? If you didn't negotiate an employment or other contract, your boss can pay you what he feels is a fair amount, or not at all.

For you, I would suggest $15.00/hr and negotiate from there.

ya there is no way he is going to be paying me over 8, he himself says he can hardly feed himself right now.

at first it was voluntary to get a job then we sat down and said that i would just be working there, i tried to bring up money and he just said send in his hours. i am pretty much ready to say good luck and leave.

I was actually going to say $6.50 per hour. I once had a job that I loved and the guy didn't quite have the funds so that is what I worked for. Hell it beats working fast food right :smokin

Man you got raped. Friends or not I expect them to pay up I would at least ask for one of those computers as collateral.

Man you got raped. Friends or not I expect them to pay up I would at least ask for one of those computers as collateral.

And what would be the goal of that? If the guy can't pay him top dollar and KaNaDiAnIcEmAn doesn't care too much then whats the problem? By asking for more money that the guy doesn't have or a computer as collateral you'd be raping the owner and the business. Potentially putting the guy in debt if he can't afford it and the business by chance goes south because of lack of funds. To me thats unreasonable. He needs keep as much money as possible. Plus, with such things you've got the think of it as an investment. The work KaNaDiAnIcEmAn has put into the business will pay off in the manner that when the guy can afford to pay top dollar for maintence KaNaDiAnIcEmAn will probably be the man getting the job. Something that probably wouldn't happen if he screwed him over like what your talking.

start light, i suggest alil over minimum wage.
and don't kill yourself with work. if he needs you to be there more often, ask politely for a raise.
