MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- A new breast cancer awareness campaign may cause some twitters or giggles, but that's the idea.

Leigh Hurst was a 33-year-old marathon runner in good health when she got devastating news about a breast lump, reported WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pa.

"I found out that it was actually stage 1 cancer," Hurst said.

It's been almost a year since Hurst was diagnosed, and she just got a clean bill of health.

Hurst is now alerting other young women about the importance of breast self-examination. Her campaign uses three words that grab your attention.

"It says, 'Feel Your Boobies,'" Hurst said. "Our main goal is to raise awareness. 'Feel Your Boobies' is all about targeting a population that doesn't think too much about breast cancer."

With help from her father, Hurst sells T-shirts, hats and other items with the slogan. The proceeds have gone to breast cancer research.

"If breast cancer had to pick somebody to wrestle it to the ground and beat it -- it picked right person when it picked Leigh," said Jim Hurst, Leigh Hurst's father.

Liz Ammon, a middle-school art teacher, helped her friend Leigh Hurst design the logo.

"I think it's fun, catchy, edgy, but gets the message across," Ammon said.

The guest book on the "Feel Your Boobies" Web site has many heartfelt messages.

The shirts come with two postcards. The idea is to send them to friends and family members and spread the word.

Since September, Hurst has donated $7,200 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.Sounds like the makings of some really lame pick-up lines...
